Beautiful muddy day calls for a trail ride
End of todays ride with Bowen. He has the kind of lope you could ride for miles.
Oh how I enjoyed having Bandit! From the little bit of arena work we did do, he was a joy to ride.
His spot will be open and I’m looking to fill it! PM for rates and I can get you in as soon as middle of this week.
❗️offering discounts to those that want mules ridden, or ponies taught to drive; must provide the cart and harness with pony❗️
I’m seeing familiar faces this year! First ride back after a year off and doing amazing.
I currently have a spot open for 30-60 days. PM, call, or text to claim. Must put a deposit down to hold your spot.

Undeniable Mare by Sara Jean Wedel
“Mares are to pissy, too moody and copious with sass,
They squeal and they kick and they’re a pain in my ass”
So many men cling to distaste for all mares.
Too often their judgement they quickly do share.
“A good gelding is all a working man needs,
When it comes to mares they don’t make good steeds!”
With comments like these I’m quick with rebuttal,
But I dispute with performance, not comments so subtle.
Mares are head strong with attitude abundant,
But befriend a mare and there will be no reluctance.
Because with head strong comes grit, will power and skill.
Unlock these with trust and you’ll ride no greater thrill.
A mare will do for you things unbelievable,
With the trust of a mare you will be unbeatable.
The attitude they have is what most men detest,
But learn to speak to her and you’ll be quite impressed.
Mares are like women who are strong willed and brave.
When you demand submission they will not behave.
But if you speak with love and respect that she needs,
She’ll do everything in her power so that you will succeed.
A good gelding will do whatever you ask,
Compliant and submissive to complete each task.
But not even the toughest geldings will ever compare,
Even the brutes of them shudder at her soul piercing stare.
Give me a gelding and I’ll make it through Hell
And come out with no scorch in his tail.
For many of riders that may be just fine,
but that’s not the horse I PROUDLY call mine.
Give me my mare with contempt in her heart
And I’ll ride her through Hell, through fire and dark.
I’ll play a trick on the devil who’s tending his herd,
Slip past his demon outsiders, swift as a bird.
I’ll charge in his corrals with a hoop and a holler!
I’ll rope his prized stud worth a 10 trillion dollar.
I’ll get out so fast, so quick and so clean,
Cuz my bay roan mare is the undeniable Queen.
With a great gelding you’ll ride to the depths of Hell,
And indeed you’

Miss Josey Bert Mystery Baby
Dr. Cotterill gave us that feel-good juice and confirmed Miss Josey Bert in foal for April 2023.
Going to have a fun little contest with two prizes concerning this mystery baby. 🎉
🎁Guess the correct gender and color for a chance to win a branded Double J hat. (Keep in mind that the foal has a 50% chance of greying out due to mommas color. Her 2022 foal is a black, going grey, stud colt.)
🎁Guess the correct foaling date for a chance to win a custom, solid color, mule tape halter and 8ft lead with a branded Double J leather patch. (Keep in mind that she can be early or late, and April is a rough estimate of when she will actually foal.) If the exact date is not guessed the gift will go to the closest guess IF it is within 10 days of the foaling.
🎈Guess wisely!🎊

Just kidding! Let’s desensitize him instead!
I use a pretty basic method when it comes to desensitizing that works on almost any horse. Now, this little guy didn’t seem to be too scared of anything, but follow along and see how I made sure he was comfortable with the dreaded water bottle and tarp!
