Girard Lifesaver Rescue

Girard Lifesaver Rescue We are 501(c)3 animal rescue in Burke County, Ga. We strive daily to help the abused and abandoned or discarded animals we see so many of.
(55)

We have taken in hundreds of animals over the past few years. Many were in horrible shape and many were broken physically, mentally, or both. Over the last Eight years we have managed with very little funding to vet, feed, house and care for so many who have now found wonderful forever homes. Our dream is that one day we will become a no kill nation where no animal is sentenced to death because of

irresponsible breeding and ignorance or simply because they were born unwanted. We strive to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We also lobby for mandatory spay/neuter, dog licensing fees, anti chaining laws and stiffer penalties and stronger enforcement for animal cruelty and neglect. We are a no kill rescue/shelter located in the small town of Girard, Ga. We believe that all animals have the same right to life as we do unless they are dangerous to the general public or they are too sick to be saved. We occassionally assist out of state rescues who want to pull an animal on death row in Georgia's many funded kill shelters. These pets are pulled from the shelter and vetted, evaluated and quarantined here at Girard Lifesaver Rescue for a minimum of two weeks and in many cases longer until transport is arranged for them to go North to the rescue who stepped up to save their lives and who will then find them their very own forever home and family. We serve Burke, Jenkins & Screven Counties and the entire CSRA of Georgia & South Carolina, but we welcome inquires from other areas of

Georgia as well

READ IF YOU DARE AND THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING A DOG OR CAT TO A GOVT. FUNDED "SHELTER"

Cleaning kennels, feeding and letting dogs run. Saturday Morning...Just another day at Girard Lifesaver...Tired from busy day yesterday with transport North for 4 of our babies..Hoping to get a nap today :(

YOUR HEAVY ON MY MIND TODAY, YOUR IN MY EYES EACH TIME I LOOK AWAY...YOUR HEAVY ON MY MIND TODAY!
!!
I have personally met this sweet boy before he was taken by AC. He ran free range with about 15 other small dogs, male and female and several litters of puppies and got along with them. 7 of which were surrendered to me and went North to their forever homes. I woke up with Wh**ey on my mind since the shelter is full and he could very well be on the euthanasia list next time.
I am BEGGING all my rescue friends and partners to help Wh**ey get out of the shelter.
Wh**ey is believed to be DEAF. Per AC Director in our conversation this am, he does not feel comfortable letting him be adopted and said he is leery with new people he does not know but said he is fine with him and the volunteers at AC. This is understandable being he is thought to be deaf.
I feel in my heart Wh**ey is a great dog who just needs the right home. Please help me help him since I too am full and doing all I can to get many of my own adult dogs heartworm treated and into homes.
I am happy to help a REPUTABLE RESCUE by pulling Wh**ey and working on Transport if we can just find the right place for him. PLEASE SHARE and if you know a great Deaf Dog Rescue, Do share far and wide to them!
I am loosing sleep over Wh**ey! He needs OUT and he Needs OUT NOW.
Burke County AC tries hard to find homes for the multitude of stray, abused and abandoned dogs in Burke County which is next to the largest county in Ga. But they do Euthanize for space and they do fill up when their is no one adopting or rescues pulling these Babies! PLEASE HELP BY SHARING! Thank You! Samantha, Girard Lifesaver Rescue

Please Share far and wide in hopes of getting this senior back home safely to his family. He is missed terribly 🐾🐾

I have always LOVED ❤ The Golden Girls. Betty was the last one left and she loved animals with all her heart. Much like so many of us and even said she like animals better than people.
She would have been 100 years old January 17th, 2022 and it broke so many hearts when we heard of her passing on New Year's Eve.
In honor of her and her love of animals and to help the rescues on the front lines trying to help and save them, wouldn't it be great if everyone donated to the Rescue or animal shelter of your choosing to honor Betty and her great love of animals?
Take the challenge even if it's $5. Every little bit helps so much to save our four legged friends who need us and to honor Betty White's great love for them. I am sure she and all the furry friends she had and helped during her lifetime would be smiling down from heaven ❤ RIP Betty, We All Loved You So Much! 🐾💞🐾💞
