The newest addition to our little farm...a pygmy kid born this morning/ last night... we haven't named him yet... but now we have 3 little boys and 2 little girls!

Great news! Today we welcomed our very first baby goat!

Meet Ivy, daughter of Lily (Mini Lamancha) and Kevin (Nigerian Dwarf).

The story behind the birth: We had two appointments today, one in the morning and one later in the afternoon. After picking up some roosters, we headed home for lunch. I (Samira) was outside when I heard the baby screaming but had no clue what it was. S'more and Bandit were on the ground watching something, so I peek around and see a BABY GOAT. Just standing there.

The baby's all white. So we assume it's another almost due pygmy, who's also white. Well, that doe is across the yard, so we move the baby to a safer local and suddenly everyone is yelling. Lily's yelling, the baby's screaming, the chickens are screaming, we're freaking out, and all the dogs in the neighborhood are barking.

We finally realize that Lily was not just a random goat by the baby, and eventually everyone settles down when the two are reunited.

BUT, the story isn't over. Lily is having contractions (another baby!!!), and Gloria's udders are full-full.

We're having more babies! 🐐

We are not able to be in Gilmer at Trades Day, but we do have two animals available in Gladewater, TX.

🐾 Trey: 11 week old (born on July 3) and the only pup left of the litter. He's the most independent with a healthy fear of his place in the hierarchy, and he can most likely be found lying about watching the other animals. He handles car trips with ease. He's had first vaccinations and deworming, and have future vaccination dates set.

350 dog biscuits each.
Gender: Male
Breed: Great Pyranees/Anatolian Shepherd
Exposure to: free-ranging chickens, ducks, pigs, goats

🐐 Kevin: Sweet ND male that will come up for attention. However, he is currently in rut, and we don't have the means to keep him separate at the moment. Due to the rut, he'll get into periods of headbutting eveything: chickens, the dogs, and myself. He can be led on a leash without a problem. Has not challenged any of our fences.

Gender: Male
Breed: Nigerian Dwarf
*Free-ranges with the rest of our animals

Well, we got back to Texas on Monday after spending an incredible week in Roswell, NM, and Austin, TX, with family and friends, some old and some new!

We are minus 2 guardian puppies. They went to their new home this morning. The new owners came over, gave them personality tests that they passed with flying colors. Father and very young son carried Ace and Duo off in their arms. We feel they are going to a good home. Their poor mama wasn't sure about letting them go, but we're looking forward to more next spring. We still have Trey.

The ducks decided to take over the drinking water as their own swimming pool, and I didn't have the heart to tell them no. 🥲 Thankfully, it's not the only water source.

Ace, Duo, and Trey are ready for new adventures! The puppies are 10 weeks old (born on July 3) with exposure to free-ranging chickens, ducks, pigs, and goats. All three handle car trips with ease. They've had their first vaccinations and deworming, and have their future vaccination dates set.

🐾 Ace: hangs out with his parents the most and seems more of a go-getter than his siblings. When I have to correct someone, it's usually him.

🐾 Duo: the friendliest of the bunch and the most well rounded. Follows me around the most.

🐾 Trey: the chunkiest of them all. He's the most independent and can most likely be found lying about watching the other animals.

Duo and Trey doing an awesome job guarding the animals. The two of them (and Ace) are learning so much from their parents, and I loving seeing them put it into practice.

S'more had her puppies today! She delivered her first two couple hours ago underneath the RV, so we moved her (and Bandit) inside and out of the dirt. Then within the last hour, she had 3 more! I have to stop myself from checking every couple minutes. Lol.

I'll check genders tomorrow once all the puppies are settled in. ❤️

Our guardian dog, S'more is about ready to pop! She's due this coming week, and we are so excited! Please excuse her side-eye...I disturbed her beauty sleep.

A bit of an update: Our family has been experiencing many health problems over the last two weeks. Bad enough that we had to miss a market last weekend. We apologize for the delay in answering messages, and thank you to everyone that showed interest in our bunnies. 🙂

Yes, we will be at the Farmers Market in Marshall tomorrow. We'll have several litters of TAMUK Composites ranging from 2 months to 3 months. There will also be two 4 month old New Zealand does.

Meet Mr. Holliday! He is a proven chestnut buck looking for a new girlfriend. There's too much competition on our homestead!

Holliday is super friendly and has been releasing fur like a champ (for all you spinners out there). He's even been on our table during farmers markets, with people milling around, without missing a beat.
