Finished up these 4 and I’ve got 3 more drying, 2 prepped and washed waiting to be mounted and yet another one thawing so it can be prepped. Staying busy getting it done!!!

Finished up a couple of 2023 Bucks yesterday. Work continues today on getting more started and finished.

It’s been a busy week in the shop. Managed to get 4 mounted up and drying, got the next 3 capes prepped for mounting and took in a beautiful Alaskan 2023 Spring Bear.

NOTICE: For all of my clients waiting on your hides or mounts, I received a call from the tannery this morning. I was told everything will be ready for pickup mid June. Once I pick everything up I will start working them immediately. I will not publicly post why everything is running late (per my schedule). Call or message me if you have any questions.

Well the Michigan State Taxidermy Convention is over. This years convention has been the best in my opinion since joining this organization. The talent and knowledge base gathered in one area is second to none! The seminars are phenomenal. I didn’t have the time to mount anything specific for the showroom floor this year, so I spruced up a bear I’d mounted years ago and was granted permission from my client to show his albino squirrel. Both were entered into the Commercial Division and I honestly didn’t think anymore about each one. Today I walked into the show room and was shocked to see blue ribbons on both critters and a blue ribbon on the bear habitat. Surely there was a mistake made along the way! I’m feeling extremely humbled and grateful for & to the MTA for everything they do!
The Vendors at the show also voted the bear as the best in the Commercial Division.

Here he is folks! Clients circa 1930’s deer remount. This was his mother’s Grandfathers deer harvested in Pennsylvania. Original antlers and glass eyes. I’m thinking it’s good to go for another 100 years now.
