You see, we are not just a rescue that adopts out dogs. We are a sanctuary too , to many animals that have nowhere else to go and cannot be adopted out for a various reasons , be it health or temperament. These animals find sanctuary here with us we do not ever put down a dog or a cat, unless medically necessary.

So, even though, we will no longer be excepting adoptable dogs we still have to provide for our sanctuary puppies still. Most of the dogs that are sanctuary here are older, and what they ever increasing that care costs we definitely need the help since we will no longer have adoption fees coming in to help us to offset the price. These babies need food, they need toys, they need new pooper scoopers, they need pellets to stay warm for the pellet stove. And they will need help with medical.

Max has been our longest resident here , approximately for over seven years. He’s a fun loving guy who loves us but doesn’t seem to like others, despite our best attempts taking him to two trainers and A. behaviorist over the years so Max has become a permanent resident that we love to pieces. We are a sanctuary/home to quite a few of these babies are behind-the-scenes that nobody sees but you will start seeing them because they need your help more than ever now with donations being so low at this time, won’t you consider donating towards Max or his friends here in sanctuary? I know that that would make their Christmas a whole lot better.

DON’T GET A DOG…UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE A COMMITMENT

In an ideal world dogs would be included as a family member and we would commit to sharing our time and life with them in the relatively short time they have on earth.

In an ideal world, we would take the time to learn about how dogs communicate through their body language, their emotions, their needs and keep learning about updated, modern, force free / pain free methods to understand or modify behaviour.

In reality, dogs are so often seen as an item of property, an object, a commodity to be bred and make money from, a cheap, replaceable security system, a garden decoration, a toy to play with when the kids are bored or an accessory that looks good while out walking, running or taking selfies.

Dogs are not objects, just like us they are sentient beings with the capacity to feel a range of emotions.

Dogs are naturally social beings and need to spend time with their human family.

A life spent confined to a backyard or fenced in with little or no human companionship is not a life.

They need love and attention, exercise and mental stimulation. They need routine, consistency and predictable patterns to feel safe and secure in our world.

Having a dog requires commitment, understanding, patience and dedication.

It’s hard work, it’s sometimes messy, dirty and stinky, it costs money and requires changes to our lifestyle.

It’s a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly or without making a long term commitment, but the rewards of forming a secure bond with another sentient being can bring so much joy and enrichment to both our lives and theirs.

Moe's brothers, Curly and Larry, have been adopted. It is Moe's turn to have a family of his own. Like his siblings, Moe loves to be held and will go for a ride on your shoulders. He is 6 months old. Moe has been neutered and has received all of his initial vet care. As with all of our adoptions, food, litter, toys and blanket are sent with our kitties. He plays well with his buddies at the rescue and will make a great addition to a home with cats. Let's make Moe's Christmas wish come true.
