Sploot season aka summer is almost here, and the temps have been rising! 🥵 As Penny Lane demonstrates for us in these pics, one way that pups can bring their temps down more quickly is resting their furry bellies on a cool surface. Dogs are meant to retain heat, not dissipate it, and overheating is a real concern during summer months. Here are some ways to keep that from happening:

🐾 Keep cold water available, especially during and after time outside
🐾 Leave a cooling mat out for them to lay on after walks (wood floors feel nice too)
🐾 Keep frozen Kong treats or pet-safe ice pops in your freezer for post-walk snacks
🐾 Mist their bellies and paws with cool water to bring their temperature down

Don't forget to avoid hot pavement and hot cars as well. We'll be using these tricks and more throughout the summer to keep your furry besties comfortable! 🧊

Tick season is upon us, and to help keep the ticks themselves from being upon us, Lola is going to share some tips! Tick Tips, if you will, that we use on our walks and hikes. Take it away, Lola!

🌿 Use a pet-safe bug spray such as on yourself and your pets before outdoor adventures begin.
🌿 Try to avoid tall grasses and brushing up against foliage on trails.
🌿 Wear light colored clothing and keep everything tucked in.
🌿 Check yourself and your pet when coming back inside (under and between arms and legs, in and around ears, between toes, and in your hair or your pet's fur).
🌿 Bonus tip! Use a lint roller on your clothing and your pet to pick up potential ticks that haven't attached themselves yet.
