How have I not shown Fable yet?!
This handsome hunk is the sweetest, clingiest Dalmatian who also happens to be deaf. His mom recently adopted him and is working really hard to get him comfortable receiving vibrations on his collar so he can be trusted off leash outside and have all the zoomies! 💨🤍

Meet Jack! 🖤

Jack was found all alone at barely 6 weeks old. His new family couldn’t bear the thought of leaving him, so they opened their home and took him in!
Jack has a lot of crazy puppy energy but is SO incredibly quick to learn- as long as he’s being set up for success! That’s key! 🔑

I’m looking forward more training sessions with this wild thing and seeing his growth! 🌟

Dutch is a BIG boy! This beautiful German Shepherd was able to have a few sleepovers with our herd this weekend while his family went on a mini getaway.
I’m always so thankful pet parents feel confident leaving their family member with us!

Did you know we offer boarding? 🏠

Whether it’s a planned vacation or an unexpected emergency, your baby is safe with us.
Space is extremely limited, which is what makes boarding with us so great! They won’t be locked in a kennel all day or put in loud, stressful situations they have no control over.

We treat all pups like our own around here 🤎

Why send your dog to a kennel or boarding facility that’s loud, stressful and crowded when you can leave them with us?
Walkies, enrichment and playtime included 😉🐾

Italy is fear reactive and her dad didn’t want to leave her at the kennels again as it wasn’t the kind of situation he likes to subject her to.

I UNDERSTAND! I wouldn’t want to do that either! Our dogs are our BABIES- mine are, at least! If you can’t take them with you, leave them in good hands.

If Steady Paws had a slogan, it would probably be something like
“Helping you and your pup be the best version of themselves.”

A lot of people think training their dog(s) is hard and, in a sense, it is!
Not because you have to be a genius or a dog whisperer, but because you have to put the work and time in.
You have to be mindful about timing, triggers and making sure you aren’t setting your dog up to fail.
Dog training may be hard and you might even have to put your ego aside a time or two-
But oh, how worth it it is 🧡

When we all went out of town last week, I knew that would be the perfect time to train in new situations with Piper. Being 7-ish months old, she has an awesome foundation, but we can ALWAYS improve. One thing that’s super important to me is checking in and not fixating on distractions, whether that be birds, other dogs or people. Focusing on reinforcement, I mark the moment she chooses to look at me on her own, give her something she likes (in this case it’s attention and food), and release her again. #dogtraining #positivereinforcement #trainyourdog

Bandit Board and Training

Bandit is a 2 year old Aussiedoodle and was with us for 3 days to work on leash walking, no recall and basic obediance. He arrived like a bull- lots of untamed energy and on his own mission with no regard for your body parts 😂 He’s spent the past two years with no mental direction or guidance besides “going”! He left a changed man 🥹 Since 3 days is only enough to start foundational work, he got the understanding of how to wait for things, listen on the first time and how leash pressure works (and that’s dumbing it down a LOT). His harness was doing no favors for anyone, even himself, and a slip lead SLIPPED right off his head every time. With that known, we started indoors in a quiet room to begin leash handling using a prong collar. He responded fantastically and, as you can see in the video, he’s so much more calm and confident than before. He thinks “Whew, I don’t have to guess anymore!” because he knows I’ve got him. #dogtraining #glasgowky
