Xylitol can be found in a lot of products and it's now being labeled as Birch Sugar because it's extracted from Birch bark. It's toxic to dogs, cats and ferrets. Check your peanut butter ingredients before you give your animals any and if they get into something they shouldn't have, read the ingredients to know if you should get them to the vet right away!

FREE Straw Bales available at BRAWA while they last

If you can't bring them inside during this bitter cold, please make sure they have proper bedding and insulation to help keep them warm. Straw is a better insulator than hay. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water and that it does not freeze and increase their food intake. Never use blankets as they can freeze from the moisture from their breath. Try to create a flap to the entrance of their dog house to shield from the icy rain and wind and if you have a pallet or something similar get the dog house off the ground, this helps as well. If your dog has any health issues or is a senior, please find an alternative to bring them in from the elements.
Lastly, check on them often.
