Exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy is a way to help people feel less afraid of things that make them anxious. In ERP, a person faces their fear in a safe place, over and over again, to help them feel less anxious about it over time. ERP has two main parts that happen together:
➡️ Exposure: The person is slowly introduced to what they fear.
➡️ Response Prevention: They are encouraged not to react in their usual way, helping them learn that they can handle the fear without doing certain actions.

July ED Connections with our Clinical Team and Staff
Today we are thrilled to have time with some of our Clinical Team and staff at Aster Springs, Eating Disorder Residential Program and PHP. This facility also has housing and opened early in 2022 in the Richmond, VA area. We spoke with Executive Director, Melanie Vann, Lead Therapist, Megan White, and onsite Chef, Joe Wilson, in-depth about that program and all of its offerings.
Today on ED Connections we are joined by Kayla and Tayler, who provide life-changing and life-saving support to those who call in looking for treatment. Kayla serves as our Assistant Director of Eating Disorder Admissions, and Tayler as Admissions Coordinator for Odyssey's Eating Disorder Network.
Uniquely, our team of admissions staff serves all 5 of our residential programs and has the unique ability to message clearly the offerings at each program, pivoting from one program to another when necessary based on client needs or availability.
