Meet Lester!

He’s such a fun age – he’s all grown up, but has plenty of energy for a nice walk, a game of fetch, or playtime with other pups! Lester has done really well interacting with other dogs, although he comes in a bit hot on-leash; he actually does better with off-leash meets. But once he’s introduced to a new friend, he is ready to play, play, play! Lester is pint-sized and has already learned “sit,” “shake,” and is currently working on “lay.” Come meet smarty-pants Lester and have new adventure every day!

If you're interested in meeting (or adopting!) Lester, please call our shelter Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 804-727-8807!

We are so excited to share some of the animals you'll meet at our upcoming Pet Adoption | Fixing to go Home for the Holidays event!

A big part of what slows down an animal being adopted is making sure that they are "fixed" (spayed/neutered), and up to date on all their vaccines. We are partnering with Furbish Thrift and the Henrico Humane Society to get all of our animals adoption-ready for our event so that they have a chance to find their forever families in time for the holidays!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation, all dogs and cats at our shelter will be fixed and vaccinated. Adoption fees will be waived during this event as well.

To see all of our animals available for adoption and to learn more about our shelter: https://henrico.gov/police/animal-protection-unit/

If a pet steals your heart online and you just can't wait to meet them at our event, please call our shelter at 804-727-8807 on Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

Meet Craig!

He’s looking for someone who can keep up with his incredibly demanding schedule; a never-ending mix of sleeping, eating, and playing. He’s the purr-fect addition to your family!

If you're interested in meeting (or adopting!) Craig, please call our shelter Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 804-727-8807!

Meet Elklynn!

Elklynn is learning many dog skills during her mini in-shelter training sessions – she’s a happy student! Like many dogs, she looks to her person for guidance and bonds quickly. Elklynn has done well with the dogs she has met and really enjoys playtime! She would do best with a structured home who enjoys getting outdoors and likes a good hike. She’s also already spayed and is up to date on her shots. Looking for an adventure buddy? Elklynn is your girl!

If you're interested in meeting (or adopting!) Elklynn, please call our shelter Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 804-727-8807!
