Daisy & Mae on a sunny day:

Mae thinks she is smart since she is cooling off under a tree while doing her job of staring (she isn't full-on pointing). She is staring down tweety-birds that we have no intention of ever hunting. Or, she is possibly staring at the barn cat, who we have decided is tweety-bird adjacent since he occasionally catches said tweety-birds. Regardless, we will never hunt either but the drive is strong with this one. At least she looks cool. She looked even cooler before she lost her sunglasses and cigar but I was just too slow to get that pic.

Daisy thinks she is smart too. Nevermind the heat, or the fact that she is secured in the doggy play field. She must be as close to us as possible since we were eating her favorite food. Which is any type of food. She must be there to catch ANY crumbs. The saying, "she ate and left no crumbs," Daisy was the inspiration for such a saying, in the literal sense. Daisy also needs love from her emotional support humans but we are hesitant to test her love for food over us. We do not ask questions we do not want answers to!

All of our dogs love the snow but Daisy loves it most 鉂勶笍 I tried to capture her doing the cute aussie, twist, jump thing, but of course she didn't do it when I had the camera out, haha.

If she stares at me long enough, maybe I can read her mind... or she can read mine?

This sweetheart of a doe is ISO new pastures asap. Shine On Buffy. She comes with her flashy spotted buck twins (pictured). Buffy has a great pedigree, and her udder may look nicer with a decent fill in it. I am offering her as a home milker/brood/pet doe since I am not milking and dispersing the herd. Located in Glen Arm, MD.

Shine On Deviant Sunrise

Disbudded yearling first freshener located in Glen Arm, MD

Sire: Shine On Dunkin' (Zanzabeez TS Cold Brew/Zanzabeez CC Hold The Line)

Dam: Phoenix Farm Deviant Skies (Phoenix Farm Blue Skies/SGCH Phoenix Farm Deviant Bird EEEV 89)

"Shylar" is a very beautiful doe that I think will mature to be a lot like her dam. I have not separated het kids since we are not milking and dispersing the herd but her udder is nicely attached and everything is where it should be. She just needs more maturing and capacity that should come with age and more freshenings.

Shy kidded easily on 3/30/23, and I would like to move her to her new home now with her buck/doe twins by her side. She is a sweet soft spoken doe. I expect her to do well on the milkstand since she does not mind her udder being touched, but she will need milkstand training. Her kids are sired by Doodle Acres PCA Paulinus *B (attaching photos of his dam, SGCH Doodle Acres OKS Polly Pocket VEEE 90 2*M, photos courtesy of Doodle Acres). The buck kid will need to be wethered, and the doe kid will come with registration application. Both kids were just disbudded and trreated with coccidia meds. There is a lot of milk and good conformation here! The entire adult herd tested negative for CAE & Johnes in May 2022, www.shineongoats.weebly.com has lab results from our vet. Please pm, thanks!

Polled, moonspotted dry yearling up for discussion in Glen Arm, MD

Sire: Shine On Deviant Decaf (Zanzabeez TS Cold Brew/Phoenix Farm Deviant Skies)

Dam: Zanzabeez CC Hold The Line (Zanzabeez ZSR Crowd Control/Phoenix Farm Summer Melody)

Indu has one of the best personalities here. Sweet, goofy, and loves people! She has lots of milk and good stuff in her pedigree, and her littermate sister who is due soon has a nice little udder coming in!

Entire herd tested negative for CAE and Johnes May 2022, results can be viewed at www.shineongoats.weebly.com

Shine On Buffy, yearling ff doe up for discussion with her buck twins in Glen Arm, MD.

Sire: Doodle Acres PCA Paulinus *B (Wood Bridge Farm Promisclassact/SGCH Doodle Acres OKS Polly Pocket VEEE 90 2 *M)

Dam: Shine On Betty White (Zanzabeez TS Cold Brew/Zanzabeez CC Hold The Line)

Buffy is available with her buck kids by her side. Her kids are sired by Brook Valley GA Times Square *B. Buffy is disbudded, brown eyes, and a very mellow and sweet girl! Her photos showcase her in her pregnant glory. Her udder already feels like it has a butter soft texture just like her dam. Lots of milk, good conformation, etc in her pedigree! I think Buffy will make a nice home milker and possibly even have show potential depending on how her udder keeps developing :) She already has very nice capacity for a yearling! Buffy kidded on 4/26 with only a little assistance needed from me. Her kids are both huge, and one was trying to come out poll first. She did great considering the circumstances, especially for her first time! Both bucks are heavily moonspotted. Since Buffy is a ff, they should be wethered.

The entire herd tested CAE & Johnes negative May, 2022. Results can be viewed on our website, www.shineongoats.weebly.com
Please pm for more info.

Shine On Halo, back up for discussion in Glen Arm, MD (she was pending, but through no fault of her own this lovely lady is available again. Remember, the goats I am listing are only up for discussion because this is my last year raising goats! I am very happy with this little herd I created, none are culls!)

Sire: Doodle Acres PCA Paulinus (Wood Bridge Farm Promisclassact/SGCH Doodle Acres OKS Polly Pocket VEEE 90 2 *M)

Dam: Shine On Mirabella (Zanzabeez TS Cold Brew/J-nels WT Tiramisu)

Halo is a beautiful yearling ff that just kidded easily with triplets. She is blue eyed, disbudded and has silver moonspots. Her pedigree has some very nice animals in it and she has a sweet personality! Halo is up for discussion with her 2 buck kids and 1 doe kid that are sired by Brook Valley GA Times Square *B (Springwater PPT Goldcot Apricot/ GCH Phoenix Farm Luck Be A Lady EEEE92 4 *M) They are available as a package.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to add nice genetics! Halo will need to be milkstand trained, but she is a good girl that is eager to please (especially with grain involved). Her buck kids will need to be wethered, and doe kid will come with ADGA registration application. I provided some newborn photos of her kids. The doe and one buck are blue eyed. Both bucks are heavily spotted too if flash is your thing :)

Our entire adult herd tested CAE & Johnes negative May 2022, results can be seen on our website, www.shineongoats.weebly.com

This handsome fella right here needs his own post too! Glen Arm, MD

Brook Valley GA Times Square *B
"Timmy"

Disbudded gold and white yearling buck, with silver moonspots. 22" at the withers ("unofficially" since he was measured only by myself recently)

Sire: Springwater PPT Goldcot Apricot (Poppy Patch OR Titan / SG Springwater AL Apricot Nectar VVEE88 2 *M)

Dam: GCH (pending) Phoenix Farm Luck Be A Lady EEEE92 4 *M (Phoenix Farm Fire And Ice VEE 90/ Phoenix Farm Lady Bug V+EV 87)

I was very excited to add this guy to the herd. He would not be up for discussion if this wasn't my last year raising goats (heck, most of the goats I am listing would not be... but especially not Timmy)! His dam is such a beautiful doe that has an impressive show record and is also a heavy milker. His pedigree is filled with exceptional goats, also including his sire's dam that probably would have finished easily if she had not sustained an injury. Timmy's personality is desirable as well. He is a soft spoken, laid back buck that loves attention, but not in an obnoxious way at all. His first kids were just born a couple days ago, and they look great so far!

Shine On Willow

Yearling due 5/2, up for discussion after she kids, with her kids, located in Glen Arm, MD.

Sire: Shine On Deviant Decaf (Zanzabeez TS Cold Brew/Phoenix Farm Deviant Skies)

Dam: Zanzabeez CC Hold The Line (Zanzabeez ZSR Crowd Control/Phoenix Farm Summer Melody)

Willow is a beautiful polled, blue eyed doe with so much potential. Her pre fresh udder coming in is looking very nice! Willow is shy and sometimes runs, but other times is sweet and cooperative. (Possibly pregnancy hormones making her a little funny!) I think after she kids and is milked regularly, she may come around. She was bred to my super promising young buck, Brook Valley GA Times Square *B, son of GCH Phoenix Farm Luck Be A Lady EEEE92 4 *M. His sire's dam is SG Springwater AL Apricot Nectar VVEE88 2 *M. Lots of milk on both sides! Nice conformation and some flash too, if that's your thing. My entire adult herd tested negative for CAE and Johnes May 2022, results can be viewed on my website www.shineongoats.weebly.com

04/05/2023

All of the older kids (3-4 week age range) just completed their first round of coccidia treatments. A couple of the kids had some slight scours starting, so I treated the whole group since young kids are so susceptible to the protozoa.

Treatments and/or prevention methods are typically needed until kids reach 5-6 months of age. After they reach that age, they typically have a stronger immunity towards those pesky parasites. (Not all parasites though! Routine fecals, famacha score observation, overall body & coat condition monitoring, and external parasite-checks should be performed to make sure the goat does not have other parasites as well.)

Sourcing otc meds, such as the sulfamed 40 we use to treat coccidia overload, is becoming increasingly difficult. Plus many of those meds will be rx only soon. This is why we always advise new or potential homes to have a good relationship with a vet knowledgeable in goat care! Your new kids and future herd will thank you for it 馃槉

04/03/2023

Dam raised kids do not automatically equate wild kids. We handle the kids daily with good intentions to prevent "wild-child" syndrome. We also continue to selectively breed for good personality, along with our traditional goals of good conformation, health, and milk production. Occasionally we have some goats that are still slightly timid, however that can happen with bottle raised kids as well (especially when they are in their "teen" phase, and genetics can be a major influence). Usually they come around after that phase though ;) Anyway, baby goat snuggles are part of the job here. It's not an easy job, but someone has to do it! 馃槂
