Shared post from my friend Lisa Tupper:
My church has tractor trailers and people going down south to help with the hurricane clean up and relief. The first trip leaves at 2am. This will be an ongoing effort and will continue until these towns are rebuilt. The address to donation drop off is on the attached flyer. If you want to volunteer contact information is on the flyer too. The people of Appalachia need us. Please like and share.
These people need our help. They need labor to clear roads, muck out homes and businesses, sorters to organize, and helpers to hand out food and aide.
They need supplies. Many people of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina areas lost everything. First and most importantly they need bottled water. Personal hygiene supplies, soap, shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brushes, dental floss, chapstick, baby wipes, deodorant, and body lotion. Feminine hygiene products, if you have some extra change to spare diva cups or similar would be appreciated I’m sure. Baby supplies, diapers, wipes, baby wash, diaper rash cream, and baby lotion. Dog and Cat food and I'm sure any other pet related supplies will be extremely helpful like leashes/collars, treats, bowls, towels, blankets, kitty litter.
It’s starting to get cold in the mountains. They need hand warmers, foot warmers, heavy blankets, sleeping bags, good socks, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hoodies, and boots.
Volunteers and tools are needed too. Work gloves, boots, shovels, rakes, bags, safety glasses, straps, rope, generators, and lighting.
These are only a handful of things they need. The people of Appalachia need our help. They won’t make it without us.
