Do you have an empty lap?
***Courtesy Post***
This is Joy she needs a home for the rest of her retirement years
Her 1st owner died during Covid Now her second owner has cancer
Joy is a senior papillon. If you look up the definition of ‘lap dog’ you will see her picture. She loves nothing more than to share the recliner, with occasional forays into lap or shoulder snuggles/cuddles. At night, she camps out on the bed, ready to alert her person of any intruders. Her new bed steps making access to her bedmate easier.
In her prior life she was strictly an indoor dog who used p*e pads. She has since learned what grass is and is learning to potty outside too. Joy is not too fond of story weather and will look out the door: “Nope, not happening.” Joy gets excited and does a happy dance when she does #2 outside as she knows she will get a good girl treat when she gets inside. Speaking of treats, she loves to sneak and eat paper. She is a tissue bandit and does not want to share. I have recently given her empty toilet paper rolls and she is like “What? I can have this and you not trying to take it away?! What’s the fun in that?” She enjoys blueberries and watermelon.
Joy is not one for walks, but she is learning to explore her yard. She loves meeting people but does not want to encounter other dogs. “What are those creatures?” She avoids other dogs, so she needs to be the only dog. She will also avoid cats. Having lived with old ladies, she is more companion than dog. Fetch? Huh? Like most senior ladies, she could lose few pounds, so she is not judgy of her people.
Joy has no prey drive and could care less about the squirrels running by on the deck. But she will alert her person to company. Otherwise she is quiet. She is in Wisconsin.
