Thank you to all of the woofers that participated in our 1st ever event. There was a huge turnout and it was a massive success. Everyone had lots of fun, got lots of treats and the was kind enough to treat everyone with a special bag at the end of the day. Please look forward to more events and new activities.

As a daycare and grooming facility, that offers many other pet care services, we feel that we must address the recent developments surrounding the mysterious dog illness, now known as Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC).

First and foremost, we are thankful to share that there are currently no confirmed cases of CIRDC within our community, and no verified cases in New York State. However, our awareness has been heightened by the diligent efforts of the 2023 Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Tracking Facebook group, which has reported possible cases in 37 states, including New York. Rest assured, we are closely monitoring the situation and have been in constant contact with local veterinarians, receiving weekly updates to ensure the safety of our canine community.

In response to this ongoing situation, we have implemented proactive measures to safeguard the well-being of our canine companions such as:

1. **Vaccination and Quarantine Measures:** Our dogs are up-to-date with vaccinations, and we are requiring non-local dogs to undergo a 14-day quarantine before coming in contact with our community. Additionally, our facility undergoes thorough nightly cleaning, including disinfecting surfaces and using a fogger to address airborne particles.

2. **Enhanced Grooming Practices:** Our grooming procedures have always prioritized safety, including grooming one dog at a time, equipment sanitation between sessions, and notifying owners in advance. To further mitigate risks, we now offer curbside pickup and drop-offs.

3. **Alternative Services:** For those who wish to maintain social distancing for their dogs, we provide dog walking and pet sitting services to ensure they receive daily exercise without close contact with other dogs.

These are just some of the measures we have implemented and we are always looking to do more.

We also want to share some suggestions to support the overall health of your pets:

- Ensure your dog is up-to-date on the bordetella, canine flu, and distemper vaccines.
- Consider fortifying your dog's digestive and immune systems with probiotics and other supplements. We recommend raw goat milk as a probiotic and it makes a great treat for your dog. For something more potent you will need to consult with your vet.

As we continue to navigate these uncertainties, please be assured that we will temporarily adjust or suspend services if the disease comes too close to home. Our primary goal is to keep our canine friends happy and healthy.
