It's never too late to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and what better way to do so than by fostering an Irish hound! We’re excited to share some great news: a new group of retired racers from Ireland will be arriving on April 3, 2025, and we’re in need of 2-3 foster homes for approximately 3–8 weeks (it could be a little shorter or longer). If you haven’t been trained yet, we will provide training before their arrival. We supply food and any other necessary items (including a crate, if you don’t have one), and we’ll match you with the foster hound that best suits your family, living situation, and lifestyle.

UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND!

Hello Foster Families!

Meet Buckley, an adorable and snuggly girl looking for a foster home in the suburbs! This sweet girl recently made the trip from West Virginia and is eager to find a safe, cozy spot to stay while waiting for her forever family. She is a little bundle of energy and could use some help learning house manners! :)

While Buckley is absolutely precious, she is not small dog or cat friendly and would prefer not to encounter little pups in a stairwell or elevator of an apartment or condo.

A brown/tan greyhound with no collar and no coat has been spotted on Clark and Juneway Terrace in Chicago. This is just south of Calvary Cemetery and by the Howard CTA.

Greyhounds Only has not received any calls about a lost dog -- could this be your hound?

We could use help contacting local police/shelters/animal hospitals to make them aware of the loose greyhound in the area. Please reply if you can help.
