Greyhounds Only, Inc. Greyhounds Only, Inc.'s Mission:
Match retired racing greyhounds with adoptive families in Illinois. However, there are always exceptions!

Some facts about retired greyhounds:

1) Retired racing greyhounds are gentle, sweet, good-natured dogs who can live in nearly every environment - from a city apartment to a sprawling country estate. Our adoption representatives help adopters find the hound that is right for them.

2) Greyhounds retire from their racing careers generally when they are anywhere between 2-5 years of age. Considering

the average lifespan of a greyhound is 10-14 years, these pups still a lot of living left to do!

3) Considered to be 40-mph couch potatoes, most greyhounds are your stereotypical lazy dogs. Even an active greyhound typically has a lower energy level than many other breeds.

The fine folks at 2 Hounds Design have decided to extend their incredibly generous matching donation program with us for the month of July!

Here's how it works: when you purchase 3 products to donate to Greyhounds Only, they will send us 7 ... or if you purchase 6 products for donation, they'll send us 13!

As you can imagine, we are constantly in need of leashes, martingale collars, and harnesses for the new hounds. It is through your donations and the help of organizations like 2 Hounds Design that we are able to continue to do what we do. Donations like these deserve nothing less than a hearty thank ROOOO!

We’re taking over the shop with our long, lanky, retired speed demons who are now dedicated full-time to loafing (or roaching – the form of loafing that some greyhounds prefer, IYKYK). Come see why we say they’re long, fast, weird — and absolutely perfect.

Thank you to everyone who came out to meet our long, weird, perfect greyhounds during their Grand Opening. We loved seeing so many smiles, hearing your stories, and watching our retired racers soak up all the head scratches and treats.

Huge thanks to Kriser’s for inviting us to be the only rescue group there — your support helps us find forever homes for more of these lovely, lanky couch potatoes.
Stay weird, stay kind, and remember: once a greyhound makes eye contact with you, there’s a good chance your souls are officially tangled.
