Sunny🌞🌞

Went to hang out last night at the weekly barrel race. She did great in the warm up pen and even tried out going into the indoor arena. She was great walking in and going around the 1st barrel. 2nd barrel was a no go!! She stayed calm the whole entire time though. I am super proud of her first time going into an arena. Will try to get up a video of her soon. We will try again next week with the indoor arena!!

Several goals were accomplished yesterday:
1) stayed calm
2) walked through alley way and into arena
3) went around a barrel
4) trotting a little to second barrel
5) calmly stopping, standing still, and then slowly walking out of the arena

I think we will look for some outdoor arenas to go to soon!!

Getting Sunny ready to go tomorrow!! She will still be getting use to the sights and sounds of a barrel race. I think the following week she will be ready to try for a run.

Remember to not just drink water when working outside. Make sure you alternate with an electrolyte supplement as well. I had a little heat exhaustion this afternoon when realized I wasn't sweating while working horses.

I'm Back!!! We are getting started again. Had a job change that is gonna allow me more time to work horses.

Sunny is back for another 90 days of Barrel training and hauling to some races. After her 90 days she will be up for sale.

She's a good little mare, quick on her feet and easy to learn.

Spicy is starting to get worked as a yearling. Working on standing to be tied, bathing, grooming, and desensitizing. Halter breaking occurred before she was weaned from her mom.

Sunny ~ Trotting through the barrel pattern nicely. We tried a different bit today to help her bend a bit more and it helped greatly. Definitely finding her pocket and seeking out the barrel.

Today was the end of her 90 days with us. She has done great with the beginnings of Barrels. And will be great for kids to get on. We have enjoyed her being with us. Look forward to seeing her at some barrel racings.

Today is the end of Rebas 30 days with us. She has done great with riding in new areas she is unfamiliar with. Yesterday she ventured out to work cows. She did great, was excited to push the cows, and was really watching them move. We even pushed up the rest of the cows to wait to go in the chute. She was eager to move forward to close the gate as well. I was super proud of her and her hard work she did. Super excited to see her owner take her out to the trails.

Great ride in for this gal. She got some more pasture riding time today. The wind did not bother her at all. Some brush and our dog got her attention but she tracked him back all the way to the house like she would a cow. Look forward to a little trail action!!

Working on a little bit of something else today for our rest day... headstall beadwork. Little man hasn't been feeling very good today. I think he has a cold and it has just been progressively getting worse through out the day. We have gone outside twice today and the wind isn't doing him any favors. Will have some updates later this week!!
