Had our first fall kidding yesterday. A rough delivery for Maisie and had to assist pulling the black one out as he is large and was very stuck. Both bucklings and mama are doing well.

The rest of the does should be due late November to early December. For now these boys will get abundant snuggles and attention.

Once again I am terrible at remembering to take pictures for a show!

The North Star Myotonic Classic was a huge successful event this weekend. Thank you to all who have supported Sarah Oeltjenbruns from Oeltjenbruns' Farms Myotonics and myself along the planning, set up, show and take down. Our herd did decent within their classes, along with Crow River Fainters Ambush winning a Reserve Junior Champion Buck and is now on his way to Texas with Janice Foster (thank you again Janice!).

It's been a busy 5 days and looking forward to quieter days and prepping for fall kidding to kickoff in October!

The quads were doing well this morning after their rough entry to life yesterday. They all had good birth weights at 4.8, 5.0, 5.4 and 5.6 lbs. Poor mama Creed looks so thin after dropping over 20 lbs of babies.

Fall kidding started the other day. Fantasia kidded 2 doelings..... unfortunately we had a very rough delivery and lost our doe and doeling, but saved the 2nd doeling. So now we have a bottle baby. Farming is not always happy endings, but we are thankful that we did not lose all 3.

Happy to say biosecurity screens for cae, cl, and johnes all negative!

We confirmed that our first freshener, Creed is due for May kids. She was supposed to kid in December, but the breeding didn't take.

Late night yesterday. First time mom flirt had a rough delivery and needed assistance delivering 2 bucks. Seems like mom is doing OK this morning but we will be watching her closely.

Hope finally released her hostages as I have been monitoring her prolapse struggles and toxemia for the last week. Hope had a nice delivery for 2 doelings and 1 buck.

Happy new year! Someone is not ready to get up and go for the new year just yet 🤣.
