One of our longest-running programs is our supervised visitation program. Due to various circumstances, many youth in our community cannot live with one or both of their parents. Our program allows children to have meaningful contact with a parent in a safe, structured environment and assists the parent and child to maintain their relationship. This is crucial for the mental health and overall well-being of these young individuals. We're proud to support these important bonds while maintaining child safety. 💖

Emotions are ever-changing, and that's perfectly normal! We all experience a wide range of feelings throughout the day, and it's important to embrace them. Whether you're feeling joy, sadness, anger, or anything in between, remember that every emotion is valid and is the driving force behind behaviors. Our team works daily with youth to help normalize the complexity of our emotions and to support each youth in navigating them.

Here in Arizona, our kids face various challenges that can impact their emotional well-being. Whether it's dealing with family challenges, school stress, or loss, the effects of trauma can be profound. But there's Hope! 🌈

Studies have shown that therapy involving animals, such as equine therapy, can have incredible benefits for children who have experienced trauma. Animals provide a safe and non-judgmental space where kids can express themselves, process difficult emotions, and learn valuable coping skills.

It's World Mental Health Day and I decided to redraw this old illustration of mine to remind you that mental health struggles don't have a certain "look". Even if you're not struggling, someone you know might be. ❤️

So even if everything seems to be OK it's always a good idea to check in with the people around you and encourage open and honest conversations about mental health.
