Miss Belle just came home from the groomer. She looks great and smells terrific!

Belle is one of the best dogs we have ever met (and we have met a lot of dogs!).

Belle is very well mannered, super affectionate, good with other dogs, crate trained and potty trained. She is a joy to take for a walk as she has a fast gait yet doesn’t pull you down the street.

Since Belle came to us via the county shelter, we don’t have any history on her. The vet believes her to be approximately 2 yrs old.

We believe Belle to be a setter mix, possible breeding attempt for a doodle type but she does shed. She weighs about 50 lbs. No experience with cats or kids.

What we do know is that she is an absolute joy to have around and will make someone a wonderful companion. She is spay, fully vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. Her adoption donation is $425.

If interested in giving Belle a wonderful forever home, please request an application by emailing [email protected]. We are located in Glendale, AZ.

Meet Brutus. Yep, we know….. he’s not a brittany. But here’s his story.

Brutus came to us after his owner passed away and he was taken to the shelter. His dog companion’s microchip came back to us and we didn’t have the heart to leave him behind.

Brutus is 11 yrs young and in excellent health. He had a senior blood panel and also tested negative for heartworm, tick borne diseases, and valley fever.

Brutus also had a dental and only lost 2 teeth.

Even with rescue discounts, Brutus’ dental and bloodwork cost $820. His adoption will never cover those expenses. This is why we depend on donations like yours.

To kick off our end of year fundraising campaign, a generous donor has offered to match donations up to $5,000 for any contributions made between now and 12/31/24.

Meet Doc Holiday. Busted from doggie jail north of the OK Corral.
He’s not a criminal or a gun slinger, he’s a sweet 6 yr old (estimate) Brittany boy.

As expected of western gamblers, Doc showed up with a couple of wounds and a red, infected eye. All is being attended to.

Doc’s eye and wound treatments, vaccines, bloodwork and neuter will total $615. We may also consider doing a dental which would be an additional expense.

Please consider donating to our end of year fundraising campaign.

A generous donor has offered to match donations up to $5,000 for any contributions made between now and 12/31/24.

Through no fault of her own, Lady came back to us after being adopted in 2016. She is now 10 years young.

Lady is in great health and is very active. She loves to play ball and tug a toy. She’s a nice size of 35 lbs.

While Lady does fine in a multiple dog foster home, she would prefer more one on one attention in a quieter home. She is crate trained, although she’s not destructive, house broken and walks well on a leash. She is easy to take out in public.

If you are interested in giving Lady a loving home, please email us at [email protected].

Meet our Christmas “Belle”. She came into the county shelter as a stray so we don’t know her real name or her history. We do know she was scared, yet friendly, and ready to be busted out of that joint.

We believe Belle is a Brittany or Setter “Doodle”. However, she does shed so she won’t be considered “hypoallergenic.”

Belle has pretty white teeth so we believe her to be under 2 yrs of age. She’s crate trained, house broken and walks well on a leash. She loves going for walks.

Belle desires human contact and would make a wonderful emotional support dog. She’s ok with other dogs but currently isn’t interacting much with the other dogs in her foster home. She needs time to decompress.

Belle is spay, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She will have a full vet exam at the end of this week. She weighs approximately 50lb.

If you are interested in giving Belle a loving home, please email us at [email protected].

Short term foster found! Thereafter, they will spend their golden years with us.

Please consider making a donation for these pups long term care.

Back in 2014, I pulled a young black a white dog from the county shelter. I named her Carrie.

Here we are in 2024, ten years later, and Carrie is again sitting in a shelter with her canine companion, Brutus.

The owner of these now senior dogs recently passed away. I can’t turn my back on them, but I am in desperate need of a short term foster.

Can someone foster them from October 2nd to October 9th? They must stay together as it would not be fair to separate them after all these years together.

Both are house broken and good with other dogs. They are currently located in the Cottonwood, AZ shelter.

Please call or text me at 602-501-1844 if you can foster.

If you’re unable to foster, but would like to donate towards their long-term care, please go to our website (posted in the comments) or our Venmo at .

Carly update: since our original post, Miss Carly, did have surgery to remove her eye. She is no longer in pain and adjusting well.
We also had an echocardiogram done to determine her heart condition. Results showed while she has some changes in her heart, no meds are needed at this time.

Carly will remain in her foster home as a sanctuary dog. This means we will continue to pay any medical care she requires.

Carly's medical expenses to date:

Spay and mammory tumor removal: $1975
Eye removal: $1313
Echocardiogram: $900

Total: $4188

Original post:

Carly, 7 yrs old, came to Brittany Rescue AZ from a small rural shelter in Southern Utah. She was relinquished by a breeder after having multiple litters of puppies.

Carly came to us unaltered and with numerous mammary tumors. The tumors were removed at the same time as her spay surgery. Thank goodness all tumors tested benign. Her recovery had some difficulties but overall went well.

Just when we thought this girl was on the road to a better life, we noticed something wrong with her left eye. A visit to the eye specialist confirmed that Carly has glaucoma in the left eye. Removal was recommended to relieve her pain.

Carly also has a heart murmur and may require a cardiologist visit in the future.
