Meet Gus, our brave 6-year-old Mastiff! He arrived covered in masses, but our skilled veterinarians at D.E.L.T.A. Rescue carefully removed the most critical one from his left forearm.

This video is LOADED with history! How it started in a pizza joint in 1983 and became the largest sanctuary of its kind in the world. How (the original) Angel got the angel she needed. How 150 dogs in the woods came in from the rain and all of this while Howie and Pearl smile from ear to ear in their new home with a pool and neighbors, right in the middle of the action!

Lucas and Emma were inseparable for 14 years after their rescue. Emma passed away a few months ago, leaving Lucas alone, but he and Leo have found a routine. Lucas enjoys jerky treats and back scratches.

Nestled on 115 acres of land in the Santa Clarita Valley, Delta Rescue is the world’s largest no-kill, care for life animal sanctuary. Dedicated to the welfare of animals, Delta Rescue is a 45-year-old non-profit organization with a mission to rescue and protect those who cannot speak for themselves.

In 1986 I started the DELTA Rescue fire department to protect our animals (deltarescue.org) from fires. I know that in a real firestorm the fire department resources are tapped and they cannot help us.

This is the Acton fire just two miles away from the sanctuary. The winds were in our favor and our own fire department ready. We currently have six engines, a water tender, and five fire pumps each connected to 10,000 gallons of water, to protect our 115-acres of rescued dogs, cats and horses. Our technical advisor is a retired LA County fire captain who also trains our fire crew.
