We are a small animal hospital that provides integrated veterinary care for dogs and cats.
Our mission is to help dedicated owners keep their pets healthy and happy. When it comes to veterinary care, one size definitely does not fit all. You and your pets have needs different from others. Our goal is to help provide the type of care that would benefit your pets the most, whether it is traditional western medicine or alternative holistic treatments.
We care about both your pet's physical and psychological wellfare. This is why we strive to provide a cat friendly environment and stress-free handling.
If your pets are your family, welcome to Glendora Pet Care Center where happy pets go to stay healthy.
What We Do
offer preventative care such as vaccination, non-anesthetic dental cleaning, spay/neuter
offer traditional western diagnosis, tests, recommendations, and treatments for dogs and cats with medical conditions
offer acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and advice regarding food therapy for pets that can benefit from alternative holistic treatment
offer medical referrals for complicated cases that require advanced veterinary expertise
Preventative Care
vaccination: Our veterinarians will take you and your pet’s life style into consideration and recommend appropriate vaccinate schedule. We follow the vaccination guidelines issued by AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) and AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association)
spay/neuter:
Our doctors will discuss the pros and cons of when to spay/neuter your pets to prevent unwanted pregnancy and certain medical conditions.
non-anesthetic dental cleaning:
We strongly believe in keeping your pet's teeth clean and healthy by doing non-anesthetic dental cleaning regularly instead of waiting for severe dental disease to set in and then extract the diseased teeth to alleviate pain. Just like us, we brush our teeth multiple times a day and we still go to our dentists twice a year to have the dental hygienist scale off the tartar that unavoidably has accumulated over time. Non-anesthetic dental cleaning is for prevention, not for treatment of severe dental disease. Not every pet will tolerate it just like not every pet tolerates grooming. Some pets may need a light sedative to keep them calm. Our doctors will assess your pet’s temperament to give you our best advice.
Illness Treatment
traditional western treatment: Our doctors will perform a thorough physical exam and recommend appropriate medical tests needed to help find the cause of your pet’s medical condition. Our vets will discuss with you the treatment options and prognosis to guide you to make the best treatment decisions for your pets. We take pride in providing excellent medical care for your pets.
alternative holistic treatment:
Certain medical conditions respond very well to alternative holistic treatments. Dr. Huang is a certified veterinary acupuncturist. She has been using acupuncture to treat certain medical conditions with amazing success for years. She also uses Chinese herbal medicine to enhance the treatment outcome of her patients. She would assess your pet first and give her advice as to whether your pet’s condition should be treated with traditional western medicine, or alternative holistic options, or a combination of both. Again, your pet is unique. We believe in finding the best treatment option for your pets whether it’s traditional western medicine or alternative holistic options.
Medical Referral
Keeping your pet healthy and happy is our ultimate goal. For medical conditions that require advanced veterinary expertise, we do not hesitate to refer to the best specialists available in this area. We believe in team work, especially in cooperating with the specialists to provide your pets with the best medical care.
Dr Huang is excited to care for all her past patients Monday - Thursday at Glendora Pet Care Center. See you soon!
