We are looking forward to the release of ABANDONED: Chronicling the Journeys of Once-Forsaken Dogs on October 1, 2024.

ABANDONED: Chronicling the Journeys of Once-Forsaken Dogs by Katherine Carver, is a decade-long project inspired by Carver’s own experience with dog rescue and adoption. Carver chronicled the fate of roughly 60 once-abandoned dogs, illuminating each one’s journey from a shelter or rescue organization to a loving, permanent home.

Her “before and after” photographs and heartfelt stories illustrate the profound benefits of dog rescue and adoption for both dogs and humans alike, while simultaneously highlighting the current dog overpopulation crisis facing our country.

Additionally, Carver is donating a portion of her royalties, earned from the sales of ABANDONED, to the SPCA International, helping dogs in need around the globe.

You can learn more and order ABANDONED here: www.katherinecarver.com.

This heat is making me 🥵

Make sure when you are taking your dogs on walks to test the ground with the back of your hand. If it is too hot for you, it is too hot for them!

Make sure they get plenty of water too!

Make spaces for your cool cats and chill pups to have a place out of the heat of summer.

Oops! We have been having such a great time seeing you all, time just slipped right away from us!
Just a few last minute reminders we bring to light before the lights start to explode in the sky tomorrow! We will be closed tomorrow for Independence day. Try not to stress too much! If you follow the simple tips above and be sure to have a safe place to lock your babies up, hopefully no emergencies will come while we are away.
BUT, just incase- we have some really great emergency and urgent care facilities close by that you can contact. Always be sure to give them a quick call ahead of time (even if it is while you are on the way if it is a life or death emergency) to ensure what protocol you may need to follow.
A few emergency centers close to the clinic are;
Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG)- 6630A Marie Curie Drive, Elkridge, MD 21075 Ph: 410-690-7170
and
Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City- 10270 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042 Ph: 410-750-1177.

We are still here until 7pm tonight, and then will see you back Friday with regular business hours!

Let's talk about heartworm, flea, and tick prevention rebates!
(offered in-clinic only)

We have a new rebate for Interceptor Plus (a monthly heartworm preventative) that can save you an INSTANT $15 for 6 doses (6 months' worth)! For Bravecto (a 3-month flea and tick preventative), we have a rebate that can save you an INSTANT $10 on 2 doses (6 months' worth) and an INSTANT $25 on 4 doses (1 year's worth)! To be eligible to receive these rebates, you have to shop in the clinic, and it must be for the same pet and the same weight range. The rebates can be applied multiple times for qualifying items.

For our all-in-one monthly preventative NexGard Plus for dogs, the rebate can save you an INSTANT $35 on 6 doses (6 months' worth)! Make sure to ask your receptionist or assistant next time you are at the clinic for an added bonus! 😉 Lastly, for NexGard Combo for cats, the rebate can save you an INSTANT $20 on 6 doses (6 months' worth), and an INSTANT $45 on 12 doses (1 year's worth)! To be eligible to receive these rebates, you have to shop at the clinic. HOWEVER, Nexgard Plus and Nexgard Combo CAN BE split across different pets' and weights' as long as the qualifying number of the correct items is on the same invoice. These rebates can also be applied multiple times to qualifying items.

We are excited to see you soon!

With the hotter weather coming (well... it's kind of already here 🔥) it is important to know that it is never responsible or safe to leave your pet in a parked vehicle alone. The picture below shows just how hot it can get inside a vehicle. At just 70° outside the inside temperature can get up to 89° in 10 minutes and 104° in 30 minutes! (I am sweating just thinking about it 🥵)

It is never bad to get your pet's out and about, but doing it responsibly will keep those furry friends safe and cool 😎
