Merry Christmas to all our family and friends. We are thankful for all of you who have become part of the West Wind Kennels family!

This year brought different challenges than any of us would have expected. Our weekend adventures to shows and NAVHDA tests were extremely limited. This gave us some extra time to thoroughly enjoy our dogs this fall hunting grouse and woodcock locally and in the UP.

Here are a few notable accomplishments and a glimpse through the year. We are always thankful for our puppy owners. We always enjoy photos - even if it’s just them hanging out on the couch!

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to see you more often in the coming year!

This year, we are happy to announce two of the pups from Brody x Breeze obtained their CHIC numbers.

CH Scout ‘em Out Ya Gotta Keep Her NA III - “Dezi” and CH Scout ‘em Out Shotgun Rider NA I - “Ryder”.

Both Dezi and Ryder have OFA excellent hips, normal elbows, normal thyroid, normal eyes and normal cardiac auscultation.

Grouse and woodcock season are kicking up here in Michigan. Hope everyone has the opportunity to spend some time with their dogs in the fields, woods or ponds. It’s why we do what we do all year leading up to fall.

We’ve been moving more woodcock than grouse lately and heavy foliage makes the grouse disappear rather quickly. Thankfully the dogs forgive us when we miss.

Enjoy the fall and collect as many memories as possible.

Obedience training is a perfect way to work during the winter. This is Karen’s sit stay group while feeding time. These three have also been polishing their retrieving so we are ready for spring.

Merry Christmas to all of our extended family through the gun dog world! Val is recovering from a total knee replacement and doing well. She should be on her feet again in no time. For now - it’s only cute photos of my crew for this Christmas!
