Just days before Christmas, we shared the heartbreaking story of 10 sweet puppies, from two different litters, cruelly dumped from a van in Missouri.

Today, we’re overjoyed to report that these resilient pups are thriving! They’ve been making incredible progress—finishing up their deworming, vaccines, and getting spayed/neutered and microchipped this week. With final health checks coming soon, these little fighters are expected to be ready for their forever homes starting 1/26!

🎁 Today, their tails wagged nonstop as they enjoyed new blankets, sheets, toys, and treats generously donated by the amazing staff and clients at Bark U. This sweet boy was purchased from a breeder, but after just a week, his previous family realized they weren’t ready for all the fun (and work!) that comes with raising a puppy. They expected him to be fully house-trained and perfectly behaved in no time, but let’s be real—puppies take time, love, and patience! Now Koda is on the lookout for a family who understands what a herding breed superstar like him needs to thrive.

Here’s what you’ll love about Koda:

🐾 Healthy and protected: Koda is current on his distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvo virus vaccines, but as a young puppy, he’ll need additional vaccines to complete his series. A snowstorm is on its way, and while it might look magical outside, it’s not always safe for our furry friends. Let’s keep our pets warm, happy, and safe during the winter weather! 🐕🐈

🏠 1. Keep Pets Indoors as Much as Possible
• Pets can suffer from frostbite and hypothermia just like humans. 🥶
• Limit outdoor time to quick bathroom breaks.
• If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them!

🐾 2. Protect Those Paws!
• Ice, salt, and chemicals can harm your pet’s paw pads. ❌🧂
• Use pet-safe booties or paw balm to protect their feet. 🥾
• After walks, wipe down paws with a warm, damp cloth to remove salt and ice.

🧥 3. Bundle Up!
• Short-haired and small dogs may need a warm coat or sweater. 🐶🧣
• Ensure the coat is snug but not too tight.

🚫 4. Libre’s Law Reminder! 🚫
• ❗ It’s illegal to leave your dog outside tethered in extreme weather conditions.
• Bring them inside and provide a warm, safe space. 🏡❤️

🧊 5. Be Careful Around Ice and Snow
• Slippery sidewalks can lead to injuries for pets and humans. 🚷
• Keep dogs on a leash to prevent them from running onto frozen ponds or unsafe surfaces. 🌊❄️

🥘 6. Provide Extra Nutrition & Water
• Pets burn more energy trying to stay warm. 🐕💪
• Make sure they have access to fresh, unfrozen water at all times.

🚗 7. Be Car-Safe!
• Cars can become dangerously cold in winter—don’t leave pets inside unattended. 🚘❄️
• Bang on your hood before starting your car—cats and wildlife sometimes seek warmth there. 🐱🔊

🐕‍🦺 8. Emergency Plan
• Have an emergency pet kit ready, including food, water, medications, and blankets. 🧳🐾

This golden colored girl is approximately 14–16-weeks-old and believed to be Labrador/Golden Retriever mix, likely with a touch of Cattle Dog. Weighing around 20–25 lbs, Chevy is playful, affectionate, and has a heart of gold to match her coat.

✨ Ford:
Handsome Ford is a 6–7-month-old black and white Labrador Retriever mix, weighing about 35 lbs. He’s a confident boy who loves attention and is always ready for an adventure—or a cuddle session on the couch. He is eager to please and just happy as can be.

As we tick down the final 12 hours of 2024, we’re reflecting on an incredible year filled with wagging tails, happy purrs, and so many second chances given to deserving animals. 🥹❤️

But before we celebrate the start of 2025, let’s make sure our furry friends stay safe and comfortable tonight:

🔹 Fireworks & Loud Noises: Create a cozy, quiet spot where your pet feels safe. Soft music or a sound machine can help ease anxiety. 🎶

🔹 Food & Drinks: Keep party snacks, alcohol, and sweets out of reach from curious paws. 🍷🍫

🔹 ID Tags & Microchips: Double-check that your pet’s ID tags and microchip info are up-to-date—just in case they get spooked. 🏷️

🔹 Decorations: Tinsel, confetti, and party favors might look fun, but they can be dangerous if chewed or swallowed. 🎊

Get ready to meet the most adorable crew—our German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix sisters, Sundae and Cookie, and our Boxer/Shepherd/Terrier mix pups: Taco, Pretzel, Pickle, Pepper, Biscuit, Noodle, Honey, and Olive!

✨ Sundae & Cookie (10-11 weeks old)
These sweet girls are all wiggles and charm with their natural little nubs and endless love. As a mix of two highly intelligent, active, and nippy herding breeds, they would do best in homes with dog-savvy families, preferably with experience handling herding breeds. They thrive with mental stimulation, physical exercise, and clear boundaries.

🐾 While they adore playtime, their herding instincts make them a little too playful and prone to chasing kitties, so a cat-free home or one with very dog-savvy cats is recommended.
🐾 Best suited for families with kids aged 9-10 years and older.

They’ll be ready for their forever homes on or after January 19th and will come:

🐾 Missouri Puppies Update! 🐾 Just days before Christmas, we shared the heartbreaking story of 10 sweet puppies, from two different litters, cruelly dumped from a van in Missouri. Today, we’re overjoyed to report that these resilient pups are thriving! They’ve been making incredible progress—finishing up their deworming, vaccines, and getting spayed/neutered and microchipped this week. With final health checks coming soon, these little fighters are expected to be ready for their forever homes starting 1/26! 🎁 Today, their tails wagged nonstop as they enjoyed new blankets, sheets, toys, and treats generously donated by the amazing staff and clients at Bark U.
