So many thanks for the comments and messages to help find a name for our new addition. It was fun reading everyone's ideas. At first, we were looking for a traditional Seppala name but after 21 years of raising and racing these athletes, we have used a lot of those names! So we settled on a more modern name, meet Evergreen's Parker of Deer Creek

After 21 years, Deer Creek Sleddogs was finally able to do a major upgrade to our property and kennel. The new shop includes a heated bathroom with hot running water and a commercial dog bath/sink. Today was day 1, and already a huge game changer for the kennel and our bucket-carrying backs!

We welcomed this handsome guy, Vision, from New Hope Seppalas. We traded for our sweet Deer Creek's Phoebe in hopes of seeing her produce some future athletes and stay close by :)

Our Story

Our kennel is a working sleddog kennel. Our start was in 1997 with rescue dogs and eventually evolved into today’s race dogs. Over the years we have raced purebreds and Alaskan Huskies. We specialize in the purebred Siberian Husky, specifically the racing line known as Seppala Siberian Sleddogs. For those of you not familiar with Siberian Husky bloodlines, our dogs hail from the original Siberian Huskies imported from Russia to Alaska in the gold rush days. They get the notoriety from the man that seemed to do the impossible with these little dogs, Leonhard Seppala. He is most well know for the 1925 diphtheria antitoxin relay to get medicine to the town of Nome. We pride ourselves on maintaining the work ethic, movement, health and sweet temperament in our Seppalas. The beauty in these dogs can be seen in their pictures, but most importantly, the beauty in their spirits is what keeps us going. Allan and Tabetha Berge
