♥️🐾We’re almost there—just shy of 500 signatures! 🐾♥️
Warren and Washington County must be animal responsible and build a long overdue proper animal shelter!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has already signed and shared our petition. Your support shows that our community cares deeply about the welfare of animals in Warren and Washington Counties.
But friends, our work doesn’t stop here. This is not the moment to grow quiet—it’s the moment to grow louder. 🐾 So many are unaware that there is no shelter. This must change.
👍Awareness is the first step towards creating a better environment for our community animals.🐶🐱😺🐰🩺
As a veterinarian serving since 1997 I was driven by the need to not just heal animals but also to help advocate for them. With only the faith of my family and my passion for animals I founded For Pets Sake Veterinary Center in Glens Falls in 2006. This has permitted me to work alongside Sheriffs, Troopers and Investigators to help animals. These brave and dedicated enforcement agencies need our help to have a shelter to protect the animals they would like to aid but can’t because of the lack of a funded shelter.
I’ve seen firsthand the urgent need for a dedicated county animal shelter. For nearly 24 years, I’ve been called to evaluate heartbreaking cases of abuse and neglect, and it is clear: our counties need a safe place for animals in crisis. They claim it’s not in the budget. Well, I say change the budget!!! This is criminal.
Your voice matters. Each signature brings us closer to change, closer to saving lives, and closer to showing our leaders that this community demands action.
👉 Please, if you haven’t already, add your name and share with your friends and family. Together, we can make sure our animals get the shelter and care they deserve. Let’s get to 500 signatures, then 1000!
🙏🤞

‼️We’ve reached nearly 300 signatures — but we need hundreds more.‼️
Please help us bring a much-needed county-run animal shelter to Warren and Washington Counties.

As a veterinarian serving Warren County for 24 years, I’ve been involved in countless animal abuse cases, evaluating animals to support investigations and testify in court. But time and time again, law enforcement and residents have nowhere to turn — because our counties have no shelter. None.

📺 I spoke with on NewsChannel 13 this week to share our message.
But we need this story to go even further. Please tag, share, and speak up.

💔 One case I’ll never forget:
A Boston Terrier, brutally beaten to death with a hammer.
The abuser claimed he was afraid of the dog — afraid for his life.
Let me tell you: I’ve never met a Boston Terrier with even a hint of meanness.
That poor dog could have been left in the apartment. Law enforcement could have been called.
Instead, he died — because there was nowhere to go.
Because we have no shelter.

We can’t let this continue.

📢 Please tag and share this post with your networks. We especially want this seen by:
Warren and Washington County residents who have experienced hardships with animal cruelty and welfare.

Together, we can make this happen. For the animals. For the community. For the people trying every day to make a difference.

With hope and determination,
Dr. Kyra Haring

The voiceless can’t cry out. They can’t seek safety. They can’t find solace. They can’t escape their pain. They can’t dull their hunger. They can’t get warm. They can’t quench their thirst. They can’t mend their hurt. They can’t escape the heat. They can’t feel secure. They can’t sleep in comfort. They can’t be free of chains and bars. They can’t feel your love.
Please be their voices. Please mend their hurt. Please be their soft place. Please fill their hearts.
Please sign the petition for our community animals, so that we can demand an animal shelter for Warren and Washington County animals.
Let’s make the bureaucrats, NY State and these two counties hear us loud enough. They must prioritize animals and stop telling us there’s no funding!!
After this, laws need to change. Let’s make sure a misdemeanor for animal abuse becomes a felony. Let’s make sure law enforcement can work as it should!!
Be the voice for change 🐾♥️🐾

So many Monday faces, so many cases.
Beautiful vet med allows me to be a dermatologist, nephrologist, pediatrician, generalist, ENT, allergist and stable hand all in 1/2 a day ♥️🐾🩺🫏🐶😺
Let’s see what the rest of the day asks of me. No day the same.

As a 5 year old I had a real genuine sense that hurting innocent baby chicks all for the sake of an Easter display just didn’t measure up. Chicks 🐣 looked weak, tired, they began to fall over. One by one I took them out from this heated “egg” and I nursed them best I could as a 5 year old with zero training. I was overwhelmed but didn’t quit. And, so it is that one by one, animals deserve our kindness, our protection. We should tell our bureaucrats we want and deserve change. We want to know where the dollars are being spent for supporting the community DOGS. Other species apparently don’t exist in the counties, so that’s quick math! I was told by a client the other day that a very sick cat was found by a Good Samaritan. She wanted help and guidance to know how to aid the cat but instead she was instructed “don’t feed the cat” by a salaried county worker. Please tell me how this is an answer? That’s essentially no better than directly abusing the cat, so can’t we do better?
I know I can’t make change on my own but together we can demand change.
Please email, flood the phone lines, let the almighty bureaucrats know they are in the wrong.
It’s our tax money, our community. We deserve better, our animals deserve better!!! Our DA’s and ADA’s need to crack down and make animal torture and neglect a priority. Our law enforcement needs to have a place to turn when they are called to protect an innocent animal or multiple (as often it is)! We must have State or County support for a proper shelter.
This is step 1️⃣

Where can we start? We as a community voice must leave detailed experiences and not just an emoji please and detail your frustrations regarding experiences related to animal neglect, abuse, and stray animals wandering the streets. Where do you get to turn in your towns when you find a cat that’s been hit by a car? Right now animal related issues are dealt with town by town, not by the county or state. How is this logical when a Trooper works for the state and a Sheriff works for the county? Only police would be working specifically with a village or town from a technical standpoint but most often it’s the Sheriff’s Department or State Troopers that go to make arrests for an abuse case. Why then wouldn’t this problem start at the State level, next the County. Why can’t Warren and Washington County unite for the betterment of the strays and abused? Set up an unused county building with land so that abused farm animals/horses have a place to land after being seized? Right now I have two pigs on my property that had been seized by law enforcement and guess what, there was no place to put them! I never wanted 🐷 but they are now my buddies. Please leave your experience because your voice matters. Any animal advocates/attorneys willing to help me help the animals that need help?

Lately I’ve kept posts generally sweet but sometimes the world is not sweet, or kind. The truth of the matter is, under our noses and often in front our faces animals are being tortured, abused and neglected.
This kitten did not fall, didn’t get attacked by an animal. This kitten was attacked by a human savage. Warren and Washington Counties need an actual shelter, like that of Saratoga County. A place with a properly trained staff, including a veterinarian, licensed technicians and not just people pretending to have animal training. The counties prefer to fund pointless and needless things. They pretend funds are unavailable. It’s not that the funds aren’t available, it’s harsh but they simply don’t care. The counties are complicit in the abuse of animals by not allocating resources to the voiceless and innocent. They need protection from predators. They need our love, time, care and yes, our financial support. I don’t want to battle these two counties alone again. I ask that the community tax payers look at where the budget goes to protect animals in these counties. This is your money. The town board will say they are all spent out, that they have trained dog control people but I know first hand from law enforcement that the dog control “9/10” times don’t even pick up their phones when an officer has an animal related issue. Don’t call them if the species you are concerned about isn’t a dog, and the condition of these facilities leave much to be desired anyway, or do I’m told by law enforcement agents that will need to remain anonymous. Who has a county as large as both of these without a building to home animals in need??!! Seriously, did you hear me? There’s no place for abused animals to land safely! There’s no budget to fund their veterinary care!l Many times I have written off unpaid invoices that were from a county abuse case I assisted with. Please, if you care, help get alongside me in speaking out for our community animals. I will be coming forward soon to the press with more horrific details of the tale of two counties neglecting animals right under your noses. It isn’t pretty. Get involved.Animal abuse is ugly😢
