🐾 Protect Your Pets: The Hidden Dangers of Bags (Plastic, Chips, Packets, etc) To Pets and Wildlife 🐾

It’s not something we think about— the danger of a chip bag to an animal. And yet… This affects all creatures—domestic and wildlife. The can cause suffocation - and is a very real hazard... 🌍

Some Safety Tips:

🛡️ Tear or cut up bags after use.
🥡 Store snacks in resealable containers.
🗑️ Secure trash cans with tight lids.
🧗‍♂️ Keep food bags off counters and out of reach.
🚫 Never leave pets alone with access to bags.

Spread the Word:

📢 Educate friends, family, and pet sitters.
👧 Teach children to keep snacks out of bedrooms.
🛑 Advocate for warning labels on food bags.

It's essential to inform friends and family about the dangers of bags and the risk of pet suffocation. Teach children not to leave snack bags in their backpacks or bedrooms, and educate dog walkers, pet sitters, and babysitters on prevention measures. Remind guests not to leave food bags or snacks in their luggage or purses, and be especially vigilant during family and holiday gatherings. Advocate for warning labels on snack, cereal, and dog food bags by signing petitions. Actively promote pet suffocation awareness on social media. 🖥️

🦴 Pet Parents, let’s talk about your pet's diet and kibble... 🦴

Fresh, whole foods are the healthiest option for pets, but if kibble is part of your pet’s diet, here’s how to make the most of it:

1. Check the Ingredient Panel: Make sure the number one ingredient is an animal-based protein—like chicken, beef, or venison—not a carbohydrate or plant-based protein. Our pets are carnivores, and they thrive on animal-based proteins.

2. Look for Specifics: The company should specify the type of meat used. Avoid products that just list “meat meal,” as this can indicate poor quality sourcing.

3. Choose Higher Protein: Opt for the highest percentage of protein you can afford. The higher the protein, the better your pet will thrive since they need protein, not carbohydrates, for optimal health.

4. Consider Less Processed Options: If possible, go for air-dried, dehydrated, or freeze-dried products. These are less processed than traditional kibble and are better for your pet’s overall health.

5. Store It Right:
• Check the Package: Examine packaging before purchasing to ensure it’s clean and undamaged.
• Store Securely: Treat pet food like human food. Store unopened wet and dry food in a cool, dry location. Avoid leaving it on the floor in the garage or outside.
• Clean Containers: Wash and dry storage containers between each bag and check for damage or insects.
• Keep It Fresh: Store dry food in the original bag within a plastic or metal bin with a lid. Wet or fresh food should be covered and refrigerated according to label guidelines.

Fabio was in the clinic for his own laser treatment, but he wasn’t about to miss out on giving some moral support to his sister during her acupuncture session!
