The red cardinal is a male bird and our Sanctuary is full of them but Denise been feeding them suet…Bird suet is a fat that comes from beef or mutton that's high in energy and attracts many birds. It's especially popular with woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, jays, and starlings.

That is one fat CARDINAL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Childhood dreams do come true, When I was a little girl I would cry to my mom after watching Bambi, that I wanted to go in the woods and find a baby deer 🦌 and my papa would say the momma deer would not let me hold it…..well this momma needed help getting her baby across the street and for a min I got to hold it and it nestled under my neck. The momma watched me the entire time and when I put her baby close enough to walk to her and stand next to her she looked back at me before going into the woods as if to say thanks as if she knew I was only helping for a minute and wasn’t gonna harm her 🙏 she seemed to appreciate it and they walked into the woods together. I know my mom was smiling down @ me and O YEA,,,tell papa he lied 🤥 😂just like Santa 🧑‍🎄 eating the cookies 🍪, the momma deer 🦌 did let me hold her baby and I didn’t even have to go in the woods 🤣nah

That’s why I keep a box of rocks 🪨 in my trunk, If I catch you throwing stones Ima throw mine 🪨too, And when they defend themselves they wanna shoot them or euth them 😡 just like humans they protect their family too.

They also love their family, and if something happens to them, they also feel pain.

Them: Hello: I would like to adopt a dog

Us: Ok: Tell me what your looking for so we can narrow it down….

Them:I want a dog that is house trained… 🥹

US: Mam/Sir… this is an animal rescue they don’t have a house 👁️👁️

Us: Here’s a suggestion… Take them to your house and house break them…..

The "3-3-3 rule" for dogs refers to a guideline stating that it takes a newly adopted dog roughly 3 days to decompress from the transition, 3 weeks to learn the routine of their new home, and 3 months to truly feel settled and comfortable in their new environment; essentially acting as a timeline for a rescue dog to adjust to their new home.

An animal is a family member…..
When you give birth to a baby does it come potty trained? If the baby cries can you return it or leave it down an abandoned road??

The other 7 pictures are of our Bruno.
Bruno was at the shelter before we were even an organization. Bruno is fully vetted and sponsored. He has a broken floppy toe on his back foot that obviously healed that way and happened long before we ever met him, however it doesn’t bother him or slow him down one bit.

Bruno was adopted for a couple hours one day and brought right back bc he didn’t do well with the family’s small dog 🐶 He doesn’t do well with, rabbits, squirrels, small dogs,birds or cats and he is extremely strong. So strong in fact we don’t let any inexperienced volunteers handle him because he is THAT STRONG!

Bruno is a man’s MAN. You have to understand the breed to understand the complexity of his nature.

He is not vicious at all, he plays rough with other animals because he is so strong.

We noticed today he is beginning to get restless bc of the weather and he likes to go play. He is a sweet dog he is just alot of DOG and he needs a compatible understanding owner that is willing to be consistent and put the work in. 🥹We so want that for him…… BRUNO has been in the Shelter for 1.5 years bf we brought him to the sanctuary and that was 8 months ago 🥹 He’s been waiting for a home over 2 years!

We received 3 calls today all around the same time, we also had sick dogs of our own on top of racing the clock ⏰ for the ice and just getting home the next day now at 1:24 am 😴 A special thanks to Latricia for saving this baby, and taking her to look for the puppies 🐶 which she was not able to locate and taking her to the vet for us AnD holding her down until she’s in better shape! And coming to the Sanctuary to check on us! I was in tears 😭 being overwhelmed and we are so greatful for people like this 💜💜💜💜this poor momma was found near Mcgrew and 182 bleeding,severely emaciated and recently given birth and a hole in her ear from likely a gun shot wound or some type of tag 🏷️ we haven’t figured it out yet 😤 If anyone would like to donate to her care you can make a donation to our bill at Wrights, as soon as she is in better condition we will have her spayed.

Hazel was found July 1, 2024 at Wrights Parking Lot, we were able to pull her,🐐 from the City Shelter, vetted her, spayed and chipped and she ended up being a birthday gift to a wonderful family…. Girl even has her own soap 🧼 now…. We love happy endings🐶

Animal Control is for strays,hoarding situations and animal emergencies and court cases, which all are accompanied by citations and fines! it’s not a dump station for YOUR PET NEGLIGENCE,,, It’s a $500 fine to dump a pet so it should be a $500 surrender fee…. It’s not animal controls responsibility to take care of your irresponsible decisions for free!
