Bert did so well today learning to sit and lay down and let the world pass by at Starbucks. We went during the morning rush and he did phenominal with ignoring the people as they came into the store and staying in place. Does your dog go to cafes too? Let me see piutures! If not, let's work on it! Your dog can be a cafe/brewery dog too and I'd love to help you get there! 💜🐶🐾

This is so important when helping clients with behaviors like reactivity. We have to remember that behind the barking and lunging displays is fear. When dogs display these distance increasing behaviors they are meeting their need for space and alleviating the fear of the unknown. If we can meet the need and treat the cause, the behavior will follow. 🐾

Everybody meet ⭐️Star!⭐️ Star is another alum that has just been a, pardon the pun, SUPERSTAR STUDENT! Here Star is learning to look back at her family for guidance when she sees something she is fearful or unsure of. This boosts her confidence, helps keep her focus on her mom and dad, and keeps her from any potential reactive behaviors when seeing something in the distance on a walk. This is a big help to our dogs who may bark and lunge when outside on a leash.

This big floof is Bear! Bear is doing so amazing with learning to feel better around other dogs! Here he is working with helper dog Bert (the all black dog). Bear and his family have been amazing at helping him feel comfortable and confident in the presence of other dogs.
