The owner got an urgent job appointment out of state and there was no one to look after her so since our shelter was closed she was left with no option than to drop her off so we can find a good home for her. So what started as 2 abandoned puppies in the heat the other day, we have found out there are 4 more on the property. Today we spent awhile trying to catch the remaining 4 babies. We were able to catch 3 of them however there is 1 more baby to catch. We have set a trap for the remainder baby.
The 3 babies we were able to get today are females. 1 of which has double ear hemotomas. Like the other 2 babies we caught these babies we caught today needed their nails done badly and we spent a long time bathing and removing ticks.
We are in need of fosters for the babies- can be fostered as singles. We provide all supplies and pay medical. We also need Purina One or Purina Pro Plan Puppy food, flea meds, puppy p*e pads, chew bones and toys. We are also in need of $$ for their medical. On this $2 Tuesday we ask everybody to remember that to save the furrbabies it takes lots of money and supplies like food, litter, collars, harnesses, flea/hw meds, cleaning supplies, etc. Donations are way down which means our funds are way down. We give each and every cat and dog we save the best care possible to give them the beat chance of being the healthy happy furrbaby they can be. Without the donations of $$ and supplies we simply are not able to save the lives. We save the lives of the higher medical, behavioral etc which means it takes more.

Kitten season means we use LOTS of food, litter, $ on medical, etc. We are in need of dry Purina kitten food and pate can food (Friskies, Fancy Feast kitten/adult), etc) and kitty litter. Without food, litter, and funds for medical we will have to close down intake of kitties. Closing down intake means so many kitties who need us will not get the help they desperately need. Please remember when things in your home change it affects your pets and they need time to get used to changes. Also please know cats do not usually urinate outside of the litterbox unless their is a reason- changes in the home, medical issues, dirty box, stress, box in wrong location, not right kind litter, etc are all reasons cats will use other places. Please pay attention to what your pet is saying.
Sugar a 8 year old declawed (all 4 feet) girl was dumped at shelter for urinating outside the box. She was not taken to vet first. Of course we helped her and got her medical and grooming attention. Sugar has been such a good girl and has been on meds for UTI.

Bubba- our bully boy who came to us several months ago with zero manners and didnt like to be around other dogs- has spent the past few months getting his medical and learning his manners. He has even learned how to play with other dogs now

Last night we had to make a decision we were hoping we wouldnt have to make. We were so hoping Berlin was going to beat this infection , however her body was just giving up and she couldnt fight any longer. On Friday she was showing lots of promising in the hospital that she was going to beat the infection, however the dr called later Friday to let us know that she was going into hepatic lipidosis, liver issues. We decided that as long as Berlin was fighting so were we. However last night her little body just couldnt do it anymore. Her body was already stressed from having babies the previous week before coming to rescue. We lost all of her babies this passed week. The infection alone then added liver issue was more than any cat could take.
Berlin you got to feel love and are now running pain free free with your babies.
Thank you everybody who helped us try to help Berlin.

UPDATE on Berlin who is still hospitalized at Hilton Animal Hospital. She is still fighting an awful infection. This morning she was sitting up and looking around however she is still refusing to eat. Vet is giving her supportive care, fluids, antibiotics etc. Berlin needs this care in order for her to recover however it is very costly. Please help us help Berlin.

UPDATE- vet said Berlin had urinated overnite Tuesday Night and was more alert. Not eating. Continuing fluids and supportive meds/antibiotics.

We had to rush Berlin, mama who came to us a few days ago, to the vet this morning as she is very sick this morning. She has a high fever, is lethargic and not eating. Vet did xrays and bloodwork and Berlin has very low white blood count, low potassium, and is dehydrated. She has been hospitalized on IV fluids and strong antibiotics. We have her very young babies at home bottle feeding them. Please donate anything you can to help Berlin and her babies. She is hospitalized at Hilton Animal Hospital. Prayers are needed please.

UPDATE- dr called to let us know despite everything being done to help Shelby. She stopped breathing. They had been giving her boluses of glucose as her sugar was low, fluida, oxygen etc. RIP Shelby. You were loved and we tried our best for you.

What do we do on Cinco De Mayo? Have 1 of our babies in the hospital at BayView Emergency Vet of course. Shelby quickly went from a happy playful girl to a girl who is breathing hard, has white gums, and is dehydrated. She is on fluids and is in oxygen right now while the vet runs tests and stabilizes her tonite. At this time vet does not know what is going on. Deposit of $1900 was needed in order for the hospital to help Shelby. This was put on a credit card. This is not the total if her bill- her bill will most likely be more.

Dogs are not yard ornaments. Please do not adopt/buy a dog and keep it chained/penned or in your yard. They are social animals and are a family member. 5-6 month old Cocoa was living in a yard and then dumped with a groomer. She is a very sweet Husky Shepherd Mix who loves to play and wants to please. She has been in rescue about 12 hours and is such a happy girl. She loves to play with other dogs and she loves to play in water. She has learned about crate training. She had fleas and several ticks however has been treated for that. She has gotten vaccinated, dewormed etc.

Kitten season is in full swing and its just the beginning of May. We got 3 nursing mamas with babies yesterday. Berlin, Madrid, and Vienna are settling in great with their babies. We have many more kitties who we will be helping .

Marley is here with us now and resting comftorably. This morning he was looking and feeling quite a bit better with pain meds, antibiotics and fluids on board. He was sedated this morning, his neck/chest wounds cleaned up - vet elected not to suture as dog bites are best left open. His eye- the conjunctiva got torn however the actual eyeball was saved. Vet is unsure if he will be able to make tears though. As for his mouth- he had multiple cracked and broken teeth and open wound in his mouth. Vet removed the cracked and broken teeth. Marley will need to go back to vet next week for a 2nd surgery to drill and dig out all the roots etc from those broken teeth as it was too much to do in 1 surgery for this little boy. Vet will also neuter him next week during that surgery. Marley will be kept on pain meds, antibiotic meds and eye meds. He will have to eat s slurry/soft food for awhile until his mouth/jaw heals. We will be keeping his wounds and eye clean. Thank you everybody who has donated thus far for Marley, we appreciate it all. We do need continue raise funds as his treatment yesterday and hospitalization over night along with today surgery and surgery next week is going to be costly.

Each and every day I hate people more and more. This sweet puppy was found abandoned at a gas station. Thank goodness for the people who have a heart and picked up this baby. Welcome Coco and all her cuteness. She is a sweet girl who needs some confidence but she is very smart. At 9-10 weeks old she is really good with going potty outside. She sleeps all night in her crate, has picked up sit, and is learning the doggie door in foster. But she is a Lab/Beagle mix after-all. While at the shelter pulling Winnie last week there was a male Beagle who had been found near where Winnie was however he was still on stray hold at the time. We had promised him that if he was not reclaimed or if nobody stepped up for him we would be back to get him. Fast forward to yesterday…. Nobody had spoken for Stanley and everybody knows dogs days are numbered in a shelter, so Stanley is now in foster with Winnie. Stanley is loving to be outside in the warm air and rolling in the grass- something he hasn’t gotten to see in a while.

Lil Girl enjoying her first toy she has ever had. She has been off the chain for 48 hours now and is so happy. She went to the vet today which she definitely was not happy about. She enjoyed her car ride just not the vet. She got her vaccines, and Heartworm test. Unfortunately she tested positive for heart worms, whipworms, and hookworms. She has been started on dewormer and also antibiotic prior to Heartworm treatment. She has spay appointment in 2 weeks.

MewMew has a very limited # of Christmas’s as she has some medical issues and she is a senior girl; however can we all make her possibly last Christmas the BEST? MewMew has been slowly declining this year and her vet has put her on several medications trying to help her. She has severe IBD and must eat a prescription food to help with her vomiting everything that she eats. MewMew is also now on daily prednisolone and an appetite stimulant as she is losing alot of weight. MewMew is about 15 years old and is a happy girl (except when she knows its medicine time) MewMew is a beautiful girl but due to the fact she has the IBD and that she is super skiddish , she was never adopted. We promise each and Every life we save- no matter what you have a home here with us if nobody adopts. So…. MewMew has lived out most of her life here and has grown to trust us, and she has also learned to be demanding of what she wants lol. MewMew has calmed down alot of her shenanigans over the years like being persistently showing us how she can climb a Christmas Tree, and tear open all the presents. Her declining health and her increasing years have helped her make it to the nice list. Can we all make Christmas the best day ever for MewMew? MewMew must eat Prescription DD venison ONLY from the vet ( this food is expensive - $88 for an 8 pound bag). Because MewMew cant have any other food or treats, MewMew would really love a new sisal scratch post- her favorite is the tripod one a little bed on top. This is such a hard post to make. Today we had to say Good Bye to Stuart Little, our senior Min Pin who was saved from the hoarding situation several months ago. Just a few days ago he was doing so well, even tho he is on several heart medications for his failing heart. Then suddenly over the weekend he took a sudden turn and his breathing issues became much worse. Sunday he seemed to make a little improvement only to decline yesterday. Vet told us we had a tough decision to make as it was now quality of life for our boy who had such a personality. As much as we love each and every life we will not allow any life to suffer. And that is what it was becoming for Stuart. So with lots of love, cuddles, and yummy treats we helped Stuart leave aches, pains, and trouble breathing to go meet all his friends on the other side of the bridge. Run free and happy Stuart. What do dogs rescued from living in a cage in a shed do on a cool Fall Wednesday morning? Run and play of course. Rocky, Oreo, and Baca are so happy to be allowed to run, play and get attention.

Good Morning from our Greek Goddess Babies. After several days of going to the vet, medications/ syringe feeding around the clock and lots of TLC- they are starting to feel so much better.
