i need help! my hoa of 3 refuses to engage in and contribute to an outside audit and i have very good reason to believe one of the members has been spending his funds in ways that are down right criminal. i have been calling for an audit for ten years now and have even attempted to do it myself but am kept from seeing invoices unless at times and places that the one in control knows are impossible for me…plus he has provided false documents to coerce his agenda in the past and i have proof of this. i spoke to a lawyer but right now id like to find a different route or legal representation that wont bankrupt me. any suggestions? i have a call with legal shield.com tomorrow morning but i feel totally helpless. i want to sell but who would be interested in going into “business” with questionable practices governing the hoa?
any suggestions or even similar experiences? my monthly hoa went up 400% in 6 years and rising…i fear embezzlement might be at play gulp….
