🐾🐾 To all of my pet parents: as we have all heard, there is a dog virus out there hitting pups pretty hard. I want to make every effort to keep all of my clients and my own dogs healthy, so please….
1. Let me know if your pup has gone to daycare, been in a boarding facility, had a play date, etc and was around another dog with ANY illness.
2. Do not come if your pet has a cough, sneezing, runny eyes, nasal discharge, or just doesn’t seem like himself.
3. Understand I am doing all I can with disinfecting and air purification. I will send home any dog that seems the least bit ‘off’ to me.
This virus is in our area. So- let’s work together to keep everyone as healthy as we can!

Some tips for keeping your doodle mat-free! This type of dog is just challenging for owners to keep free of mats. The combination of a double coated breed and a curly breed is tough.
I see most mats on lower legs, hip area, arm pits, and lower chest. Once they are matted, a close clip is the only option.
Doodle breed = DAILY home maintenance 🐾🐶

Golden doodle I groomed. YES they shed! This one had a severely packed undercoat (typical of a golden retriever that doesn’t get thorough at home grooming). So, when you choose your breed- just keep in mind the maintenance and at home care involved. I see many many doodles. Some don’t shed at all, most shed normal, some are severe shedders. All need to visit the groomer often.🐾

GIANT breeds…. I do many. They are challenging, tiring, and time consuming…. But oh so rewarding!! Wet (takes about 20 mins just to soak the coat), shampoo (no- she doesn’t have soap in her eye, just timing when she closed it. I use JJ baby on faces), rinse, shampoo again, rinse, condition and let it soak a bit, rinse, blow dry to remove undercoat, brush forever 😆, clip nails, and neaten feet , pants, remove mats, etc with sc******ng and clipper work. Have to balance being efficiency to not lose dogs patience with doing quality work. If they’re matted I clip mats out. Combing mats is so painful. Brushing at home is a must for these breeds to maintain a healthy coat. YES they’re still going to shed - even after a groom!!!
