Glyndon has many dog owners and a dog park would enhance our great community. Let's get there together! Many residents of Glyndon would utilize a dog park.

Project Dog Park
This is a phase document for proposed Dog Park in the City of Glyndon, Minnesota. The dog park would roughly be 200ft x 100ft with two sections, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. There would-be fund-raising efforts to cover the cost of the fencing and labor for the project. The goal would be to start construction on the dog park in May of 2021. The Phases with a brief des

cription is listed below. PHASE 1: The city would first need to decide on which property would be best for the location of the dog park. A motion to dedicate the land for the use of a dog park would need to be passed by a simple majority of the city council. Two area’s have been identified for the council to choose from. (see maps)
PHASE 2: A non-profit(501c) sponsor for the project needs to be sought or a non-profit(501c) would need to be formed. The purpose of the non-profit is for fundraising. State registration may be necessary. PHASE 3: Social Media platforms established discussing the Dog Park plans. Glyndon focused. The basic plan will be presented with cost estimates. PHASE 4: Fund raising: Go Fund Me, seek donations, advertising sponsors
PHASE 5: Construction of dog park
PHASE 6: Grand Opening and naming of the park to finish the project. I will serve as the head of the committee to oversee Project Dog Park. I will seek individuals join and provide input and assist in all areas of the project. Dave Owings

Randall's Excavating Inc | Site Utility Work of water lines, sanitary sewer and storm sewer in North Dakota and Minnesota

Today I received a phone call from Randall Henriksen, owner of Randall's Excavating( https://www.randallsinc.com/). He generously offered his services and materials for the dog park. The location by the coolee would require a culvert and new approach. In a later phase I was hoping to add a dog water fountain. Randall has offered to help with the culvert, the approach and getting water to the dog park. Thank you Randall Henriksen, that phone call made my day!

Randall's Excavating is experienced in underground utilities specializing in water lines, sanitary sewer and storm sewer from site preparation and trenching to the installation of all site utilities.

The conversation has started! The council has decided to publish a survey about the dog park. The council has ruled out the Johnson Park location. The proposed park location moving forward will be the Coolee. The survey should be out soon. More details to come!

Wouldn't a dog park in Glyndon be fun? I think so and that is why I am bringing it up during tomorrow's city council meeting. The first step is getting the city to approve which land can be used for a dog park. NO CITY FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR THIS PROJECT.
