How to help your dog have a more enjoyable time while at the salon:

- Have your pup take a long potty break before they leave the house.

- Exercise like a walk/run or playing ball before their appointment helps to exert energy which allows them to be more relaxed during their appointment.

- Give your pup confidence at drop off time just like you would your child. Try not to feed into what appears to be anxiety. Dogs are very intune to your energy. If you’re nervous about leaving your pup, they too will be nervous while you’re there. Once a nervous pup parent exits, their pup then looks to us for confidence and comfort. They are in good hands ❤️

- Taking your dog out and about between salon appointments gives them socialization skills. This will really help dogs especially who aren’t used to leaving their home. This helps build confidence in your pup and they become relaxed when in environments other than their home.

- Avoid heavy meals before your pup’s salon appointment. A full tummy and excitement can cause an upset tummy.

- A dog trainer can really help in areas you might be having difficulty with or just don’t have time for. Let us know if you’d like to be referred to a trainer.

Are you seeing dog hair all over your home?

Shedding is controlled by hormonal changes that are affected by changes in daylight. As the days get shorter, many dogs and cats shed their summer coats so a heavier, thicker, protective coat can grow in for the winter. Though the coat that is shedding is the lighter summer coat, it can still be surprising to pet owners that their pet is shedding so much just before the winter.

In the spring, the winter coat sheds to make way for the lighter, summer coat. The difference in the two seasonal events is that, because the winter coat is much thicker, there will be much more fur falling in the spring.
