drea works one on one with each student to accomplish their individual goals by developing a personalized lesson plan. She works with beginners to experienced riders, as well as any level horse, and specializes in Western Dressage, Western Pleasure, and Natural Horsemanship. We offer an easy and relaxing learning environment with our two way headset communication system, reliable school horses, and a safe indoor and outdoor facility. Osmond Equestrian offers leasing opportunities, as well as purchase and selling consulting. It is our mission to assist the local Colorado rescues in finding forever homes for their horses before seeking a horse through private sales. She started as an educational leader and trainer with Jefferson County 4-H, and then pursued becoming a CSU carded judge. Andrea offers her judging services to 4-H, as well as open and schooling shows. She also offers show coaching for 4-H, which includes open, schooling, Western Dressage, and breed shows. Please take a look at our site for more information on training, lessons, and other services. Andrea looks forward to helping you create a bond and passion with your horse... After all, horses are the only animal known to make time disappear!

Great day with Stacey and her little mare! We started working together this past spring on Western Dressage. Today was their first show and they landed 61% on both WDI1 & WDI2 (for those who don’t know a 70% = 100% in WD.) I am so flipping proud of them!!!! I’m pretty sure she’s hooked now. 🤗

I love these girls. Today they worked towards learning some liberty work. They worked on whip control, how to snap a whip, how to use body language to drive, draw, and turn their horse... eventually. In this video they are practicing their movements to get an away turn.

Another day of some mind blowing liberty work. This time I added youth. See video for how the lesson went. 😉💗

REMINDER: do not wear tennis shoes 👟 to the barn, no matter how safe or good of an equestrian you are. I did last night to do groundwork with a horse. At the end of the session he was in the cross ties getting his blanket on. Someone came out of a tack room and he jumped straight up and right onto my foot. Luckily there were no under 21 year old ears around 😳. He got off my foot before I could even shove him and looked at me. It was feeling okay this AM after 3 hrs of ice last night, ibuprofen, and essential oils. Went to let my brute of a heeler in this morning and she smashed my two baby toes as she came barreling inside. More adult language. We’ll see how four hours of teaching lessons in a sand arena goes today 🤦🏼‍♀️ and showing real estate. Wear proper shoes! This is stupid and could have been less of an ordeal.

Hefner: WTH are you asking me to do?
Me: I’m teaching you liberty
Hefner: WTH is that?
Me: I went to a clinic all weekend! When I crack the whip you come! Then stay connected and we do cool moves together.
Hefner: So the total opposite of anything you’ve ever taught me!
Me: Exactly
Hefner: Um can we go back to last week? I understood the goals last week.
Me: you got this buddy!
Hefner: I’m trying but this is blowing my mind right now!
Me: You’re a good boy! Keep trying!

Cheyenne loves that some of his past students, now are his care takers at his semi-retirement home. These girls help me clean and they regularly feed him and water. They are also sure to make sure he gets snuggles and apple sauce! It’s awesome to see them come so far and have this amazing opportunity to grow up with horses!

Hefner is a barn favorite with an amazingly fun and loyal disposition. He seems happy to have a specific person, but does well when other take him for a spin. He loves to play with his neighbors and I would expect him to be middle of the herd if he were to be turned out with others.

I know it's hard to look at but it's important. I see more and more people these days leaving their halters on their horses... I have seen this end result and it is not pretty. Even when you think your pastures are safe, there's always SOMETHING for them to hang up on. I have seen horses hang themselves on a single nail. I have seen horses hang themselves and break their necks on a post. I have seen horses break their own necks scratching their face with a hind foot. Leaving halters on horses is never a good decision! They are born with a self- destruct gene and your only purpose in owning a horse is to keep them alive against their wishes. Please be safe out there for the sake of the horses.

Our Story

Osmond Equestrian was founded in 2014 by Andrea Osmond. She had been investing and training Hunter Jumpers with a friend Trainer while working in cooperate America. She realized during this time that she despised cooperate America and jumped into self-employment, becoming a Western Trainer.

Osmond Equestrian started out in a small outdoor facility with just one lesson horse and a round pen. With time the lesson program grew, horses starting coming into training and winters became tough without an indoor arena. Over the course of 2015 to 2017 Osmond Equestrian has grown and upgraded in facilities, now located at Silver Quarter Acres in Golden, Colorado.

Focused on Western Dressage and Classical Dressage, Osmond Equestrian has two wonderful, knowledgeable, and experienced Trainers. Linnea True joined in 2017 bringing the Classical Dressage to the program. Andrea, focuses on Western Dressage and the Lesson Program. There is also a Show Team who attends schooling shows to World Championships.

In the summer of 2017, Osmond Equestrian’s Show Team really took off. Over the course of the season they attended several Rocky Mountain Dressage Society shows and Western Dressage Association of Colorado shows. Andrea earned End of Year Hi-Point with Western Dressage Association of Colorado, as well as her client earning Reserve End of Year Hi-Point in the amateur division. The team concluded their year with attending The Western Dressage World Championships in Guthrie, Oklahoma in October. Andrea’s junior rider earned Top Ten in the Intro Juniors at the World Championships!
