At the November 4th general membership meeting, we had the opportunity to celebrate Lydia Andrews-Jones as our Horseperson of the Year!

Lydia is a 4th-generation Colorado horseperson whose dedication to her community is truly inspiring. Her volunteerism to preserve open spaces, protect equine and agricultural heritage, and foster collaboration to ensure a positive future for the equine community through advocacy and education is exceptional.

With her current equine partner, Sophie, Lydia can often be found on the trails and in parades, representing the heart and spirit of our equine community.

Please join us in celebrating Lydia Andrews-Jones for this well-deserved honor! Drop your congratulations in the comments below! 🎉🐴

A wonderful time was had by all at the JCHC Annual Holiday Party, held last Monday. Members enjoyed holiday music, a delicious potluck meal, festive cheer, lively conversation, and a fun gift exchange and game. As the snow fell outside, we stayed warm and enjoyed a cozy and joyful evening. We hope you’ll be able to join us next year!

On November 23rd, your JCHC EET (emergency evacuation team) members became certified in human CPR and 1st Aid, as it's not always the animals that need assistance during a stressful evacuation. While we hope to never have to use our new skills, it's good to know there are several trained volunteers to help keep us safe.
We hope to host the class annually, for our members and volunteers to become certified for the first time, or to renew their certification, which is good for 2 years.
