The key to a quality tanned hide starts in the field. Taking care of the hide or skin from the beginning - skinning, fleshing, salting or freezing right away will minimize the chances of bacteria growth. Bacteria growth is what causes hair slippage.

πŸ”΄ Science-Based Wildlife Management: Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) already does a fantastic job of managing our lion and bobcat populations. They use science-based methods, including regulated hunting and trapping, to ensure healthy populations while preventing overpopulation and conflicts with humans or livestock. CPW statistics actually indicate that the mountain lion population has been steadily increasing and in the absence of human intervention has the potential to double every 5 - 10 years. Prop 127 throws a wrench in this proven system.

πŸ”΄ Unintended Consequences: Overpopulation can lead to imbalances causing devastating consequences for other species, such as deer and elk, in increased human-wildlife conflicts, more livestock depredation, and even harm to the overall health of lion and bobcat populations.
