Green Mountain Animal Hospital is fundraising in the aftermath of the death of K-9 Graffit in Jefferson County.

As many of you may know K-9 Graffit with Jefferson County Sheriffs K-9 unit was shot and killed in the line of duty. We have had the privilege of providing veterinary care for the K-9 unit since 1997. Over the years they have become apart of the Green Mountain family. We are asking for donations to get the K-9 department new bullet proof vests. The ones the dogs use now are too bulky and are difficult to work in. In an emergency situation, such as with Graffit, there is not always time to put the existing vests on. We have been in contact with the K-9 officer handlers and they found an amazing vest that military dogs use- called Storm patrol Swat Vests. We are looking to donate 2 (two) vests. The dogs are able to wear these vests for the entirety of their shift.
