Our sweet and spicy, little diva-princess Shelby went to heaven yesterday. Shelby was born in my very first litter on August 25th 2009. Her mom had been in labor for a couple of days - I had no idea what I was doing or watching for with dog labor! Many lessons learned since then. ❤️😇
She was the best babysitter I could have asked for and my son, Alex, was her best buddy from the day he came home from the hospital. Wherever Alex is, there was Shelby. 🥹 We live in the country and one day when Alex was two, he started to wander off up the dirt road while I was cleaning the dog shop but Shelby came running back, whining and crying to get my attention! Shelby loved her grandma Debbie and grandpa Dave, howling to the goose call, smiling when you told her she was “bad,” and always helped the other Aussie mamas with their babies when we had litters. I sure do hope all dogs go to heaven. Run free with your mama Red-dog, daddy Jackson, uncle Hank, niece Chloe and sisters Maggie, Lily, Lucy, and Gracie. I will sure miss your princess complex and your sneaky, ornery ways. Rest in peace sweet girl. 8/25/09-08/14/24 ❤️💔
“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”
