We love & appreciate our Dr Analiese & are so excited for her & Tim! Of course we adore Goldendale Reindeer too! 🥰

You know?

When we left our 'city life', I really had no idea what to expect from this reindeer life. What has unfolded has far exceeded what little expectations I had.

We all know that reindeer are magical creatures. Their physiology and adaptability are incredible. We've read about their magic in children's books since we were small. Don't we all know the story about Santa's eight tiny reindeer?

But there is a different kind of magic that can only be seen when you watch them interact with people, something we are blessed to experience every single tour. Fear, worry, anxiety, and all the stressors of daily life melt away into joy, smiles, and giggles. It happens every time!

The other unexpected blessing is the relationships that are created through this simple magic. We have formed deep friendships with folks we never would have even crossed paths with if we didn't have reindeer!

This photo is so special to us. It radiates magic in all of its layers. This is one of our veterinarians, Analiese, with her new fiance, Tim, and 'her' reindeer, Carliese, the calf she was instrumental in saving. Analiese wanted to come to the farm to do some engagement photos with the deer. Every single bit of this means so much.

So here we are, living in a town we'd never even heard of until 4 years ago, with 11 reindeer.

If that isn't magic, I don't know what is.

Some do not realize just how demanding the job of a veterinary technician can be. It requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks while effectively communicating with other staff and veterinarians. It requires patience, people skills, the ability and willingness to learn new techniques and think on your feet, and an absolutely unshakable love of animals.

Update:

Swift is still missing. Last seen Wednesday morning 10:30 at Thompson Road and Seely Drive off of Garrison. Anyone in a 30 mile radius, it’d be extremely helpful if you gave your neighbors a call and kindly ask if they wouldn’t mind checking their properties. I’m hoping for good news today. It was a long night.

I hope she’s in the hands of kind people. 🙏🏼

Mid Columbia Veterinary Clinic will be having our Reduced Price Vaccination Clinic!! It will be held on
Tuesday April 11th & Wednesday
April 12th from 1pm to 5pm. Please have dogs on leashes or in carriers & cats in carriers. Payment will be required at the time of service. No appointments necessary.

Happy THANKSgiving to our wonderful clients, patients, friends and of course the amazing staff I’m thankful to work with at MCVC!
I’m reminded this morning that I’m also thankful for the smiles that the smallest, fluffiest, spiciest patients bring to my days! With that being said….here’s Tilly to bring a smile to all of you! We will be closed today and Friday but emergency services are still available.
