The clinic will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday & Friday. If you have an emergency please call the clinic number 509-773-4363 & it will forward you to the on call veterinarian. For all non emergent calls the clinic will be open at 8am on Monday! All of us at Mid-Columbia Veterinary Clinic are very thankful today and always for our amazing clients, patients & friends!!

We love & appreciate our Dr Analiese & are so excited for her & Tim! Of course we adore Goldendale Reindeer too! 🥰

When we left our 'city life', I really had no idea what to expect from this reindeer life. What has unfolded has far exceeded what little expectations I had.

We all know that reindeer are magical creatures. Their physiology and adaptability are incredible. We've read about their magic in children's books since we were small. Don't we all know the story about Santa's eight tiny reindeer?

But there is a different kind of magic that can only be seen when you watch them interact with people, something we are blessed to experience every single tour. Fear, worry, anxiety, and all the stressors of daily life melt away into joy, smiles, and giggles. It happens every time!

The other unexpected blessing is the relationships that are created through this simple magic. We have formed deep friendships with folks we never would have even crossed paths with if we didn't have reindeer!

This photo is so special to us. It radiates magic in all of its layers. This is one of our veterinarians, Analiese, with her new fiance, Tim, and 'her' reindeer, Carliese, the calf she was instrumental in saving. Analiese wanted to come to the farm to do some engagement photos with the deer. Every single bit of this means so much.

So here we are, living in a town we'd never even heard of until 4 years ago, with 11 reindeer.

If that isn't magic, I don't know what is.
