After having my first rescue horse( EZRA my personal horse forever .) for 3 yrs We finally have a trainer. Ezra just needs refreshing. We hope to get some of the other rescue horses here trained as well, but can only afford so much. The more they know the better chances of get their own family. I am capable of basic training and I learn more every session. But first rides take BA[ [ S LOL .
LOL
Ezra and Kong enjoying the free range.
3 of the 4 pregnant mares from Sunnyside feedlot. They Follow me around. When I stop and stand still the 2 unhandled mares sniff me and nibble on me, but if I move they scatter.
The Red mare has been handled, probably broke at one time. Yes broke. I would bet money that is why she is scared to have her face touched.
She now let's us touch her face for a few seconds at a time . We can belly scratch for a minute before she decides that enough, we must be up to something LOL. She listens to my voice commands and pressure commands. She is a sweet girl, not the mare ish kind.
They will have their babys sometime in the spring. No information on the stud, So it's like 4 Christmas presents except I'm not sure what day it's on . LOL
Dalary is safe on the farm. She is calm . I think she knows what we do around here. Thanks to a team of people she can have her baby in the deep straw instead of the mud.
Today she let me pick up her feet. She let me lead her into the trailer and eat some grains and minerals from a bucket. (I think that was her first time)
I bucket train all the animals.
I hope to be able to clean up her feet by next Friday. If I can work on them a little, I will get the farrier out. The last thing she needs is fear , it is a hard one to fix. I am confident in her . She is a smart girl and likes people.
