Happy national siblings day to all my siblings. I love every one of you, even if I don't see you as much as I'd like, you're all close in my heart. Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful afternoon. This is my driveway. I had to hussle the deer off it. I guess they thought it was a good napping spot.

Well, gone is my lovely sunshine.

Just when you start getting excited about spring and gardening, a reminder that you still have a while, so calm down. A light snow fell last night. Probably not more than an inch. Just enough to look beautiful and reign in my premature gardening…..and of course look beautiful.

Spring is getting closer. The deer are starting to hang around more.... likely hoping to prune my poor apple tree. It's nice to see things starting to green up again too. It froze last night, just a warning to not get too excited and start planting things. Dang, it was a close call.

Yesterday was such a lovely day. The sun was shinning and the little herd of deer decided to come mow the grass for us. It must have worn them out because they had to take a nap in the middle of it. Fun watching them. We had a showing today too. Hopefully someone will decide this is the perfect 80 acre farm and make us an offer!

More pictures. If you're looking for a great small farm, nows the time to buy, before interest rates jump again, and in time to get in some spring planting.

Rain, rain and more rain. I guess it will help things grow in the spring, but it's sure unpleasant now. At least the snow's melted. Somebody will hopefully buy it in time to get some spring planting in and take advantage of the winter rainfall.

We have sunshine and no snow, and even 47 degrees, which feels absolutely balmy right now. I still have the Christmas tree up because, well, I only get to enjoy it once a year, so I'm still enjoying it. It always seems that when you take the tree down, you've set yourself up in a waiting pattern for spring, and its a long wait. I'm stalling the waiting time by keeping my tree up longer. I'm not waiting for spring, I'm savoring the holidays....... longer.

It's cold today. We're experiencing part of the nationwide "Hell freezing over" snap. I did make the short run into Goldendale and pick up some groceries, but otherwise, we're all laying low, sitting around the fireplace, enjoying the lights on the Christmas tree, and waiting for spring.

More pictures of the farm we are selling. These show the various seasons and include some of the animals we used to have here. I've pinned the post with sale details on it so if you're interested, grab it now so you have time to plant or get it ready for spring planting.

We have decided to sell the farm. It's 80 acres in Goldendale, WA. We are only about 2.5 miles outside of town on a paved road. The land is a mix of pine, oak and pasture, fenced and cross fenced. There are about 30 tillable acres and the rest is pasture.
The house is 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, and there is an additional fully self contained apartment with a private entrance. 2 car garage with 3rd bay set up like a shop. The house has been recently upgraded with new tile, mini splits, paint, energy efficient windows, bathroom tiles and fixtures, lighting, and flooring.
There is a large feeder barn, a good sized antique barn with mortise joinery, and 2 smaller storage/coverage barns. There is water that can be turned on to the barns.
The house has a 12K, professionally installed, grid tie solar system. There are decks on the front and back of the house as well as a covered patio.
Price is $625,000. You can contact Connie at Windermere in The Dalles, OR for a showing and more details at (541) 288-7288.

I always miss the goats the most during kidding season….on sunny days….when it’s harder to remember freezing your buns while breaking ice in the water buckets.

Everyone is out enjoying the little window of sunshine. Sure nice to have bare ground for a while. Kids are growing nice but I think everyone is anxiously awaiting some growth for grazing. Likely another 6 weeks darn it.
January2016kids in barn
Its raining and snowing so all the kids are goofing around in the barn. Moms and yearlings add to the mix and it gets kind of crowded till they settle down. Love watching the kids playing. Most of them are inside but a few have ventured to the open side to perform for me. It only seemed fair to get a video of their efforts.
Ducks enjoying a swim in the kiddie pool. They're actually the only kiddies we have right now....... and, really, that's the only pool we have now too.......
