I am happy to say that my two pups and Dublin have gone on to become service dogs.
They went to Pauline Hoegler in Massachusetts
Golden Opportunities for Independance where she has many programs for training dogs and dog handlers.
This is what I had hoped for them-I am so happy to hear that Sabrina has already been placed in a family and is so happy. She will go to Pauline thru the week for her next round of training, then home with her family each nite.
As you know if you have one of these amazing dogs-is that they are too smart for words and just adore their owners. Their ability to be calm and listen is also an asset.
I am so glad that these last two pups went where they belong!
It is way too quiet around here now, as Dublin went too. She took three of my dogs, which leaves me with Sunny, Sasha and Betsy.

I would like to introduce you to Miss Sabrina.
She was born on February 22 of this year,
and she was one pound at birth,
She is now 40 lbs.
She has a wonderful disposition and is learning from me and our older dogs each day about what is allowed and what is not.

I do still have her sister, but at this time I just can't figure out her name. Her sister is more dominate and slightly taller.

At this point I have figured out that I am supposed to keep them.
When they are together-its zoomie time and let's wrestle.

Both of these girls are just the sweetest!

I let the pups out for 15 minutes after the rain let up-they colected all the mud they could find. I should have done before and after pictures.

They look like they are smiling to me.
They should-they have a great life here-it is golden central.
I will have one of their brothers-Oscar here for two weekends in July, while mom goes to the beach.
I would love to see pictures of their sisters and brothers.

Sunny was spayed yesterday and she is still moaning today, but refuses to take her meds. Stubborn girl. The doc said the surgery was a little more complicated then expected, as her body thought she was pregnant. She was not in heat but was experiencing a fake pregnancy. She was producing milk as well. Who knows why?

I finally got the pups to sit still for some pictures last night.
Aren't they pretty?
I still have not come up with their names yet.
They are a little over 4 months old, and it looks like they are staying here. They have been very good in the house, and they have gotten to be very good on the leash. As soon as I put their leashes on, they just put it in their mouth and act like they are taking me for a walk.

Dublin is back here, and being on his best behavior-he is playing with the puppies, and being my shadow. Wherever I am, he is within six feet of me.

These pups are getting big!
They are truly water dogs! If there is only an inch of water in their tub out back, they will get in it and start swimming. If you have a pool you need one of these pups!

I could not have gotten these two girls to stay still If I had asked them to-they had a stick that they were playing tug with.
Sasha on the right and Betsy on the left, with a puppy in the middle. They are both two years old soon. Sasha has always been my favorite, I just love the way she is built. Her father is Buddy-the same sire of the pups.

It has been pretty busy around here the last few days. Please forgive me for my lack of posting.
We have two beautiful female pups still here. They are almost 12 weeks old (on Wednesday).
One went home to my friend Jane-she was so attached to the pups when she took them home when I broke my hip in August of last year.
So now she has Ellie J.-she is a pistol-and she lives with 11 year old Gracie and Ash the beagle who is 7 I think.
Jane reports they are all getting along well. She is in the best home! Bob and Jane have had several of my dogs over the years and loved every one. In this first picture taken on the 10th, Jane's pup picked her first.
The last boy went to Jordan and Marlon in Silver Spring-I know they love him already-they are in the same neighborhood as Blizzard, who was born in June of last year. I am waiting for their picture-they took it first.
Today one of the girls went home to New Jersey to live with Mom & Dad and two teenagers and an older Akita. She will teach her the ropes. They have a long drive home-they love her alot and she loves them too! It was hard for them to pick out of the three girls.
The second to last little boy went home with Pat Lett's granddaughter Crystal, and her family with five children. She said she did not care for dogs with hair, but by the time they got home, she was in love! Looking at these pictures-she was hooked before they left here. This boy is smiling!

I have had the pups in the large turnout out back for the last few days, I give them about an hour to run and play and hide under the platform. They love it! Then they hate me when I carry them back for their nap. They get a big drink and lay out on the cool concrete and nap. I am starting their leash training on the way out to the turnout, when I leash them up for the walk back-they are not happy, and I end up carrying them.


Thursday May 18th:
There are two girls still here-they are 12 weeks.
They weighed in at 23 lbs. and 27 lbs.
They had their second shots yesterday.

Sunny outside with her pups-always teaching lessons-
This is Sunny's last litter. She is a great mom.

We have Mac and Murphy here for a week. Mac is Sunny's brother-they will be 7 on the 24th of this month. Murphy is a Brittany Springer Spaniel. He has alot of energy! He was jumping in and out of the puppy enclosure-just baiting me-knowing I could not reach him in time-he thought it was funny.
The pups have figured out that they can get over this small fence. If they can get their tummy on the top rail, they are over and gone!

Did you hear that these puppies are housetrained already? It's true.
Here is what you do. I will send you home with some of my shavings. You sprinkle some in the yard where you want your new pup to go and he will. It is that simple. They have been trained this way since they gained their feet at 3 weeks. They do not want to go where they sleep, so it is natural for them to go in a designated spot. Even in their outside play yard in the grass, they have a corner with shavings, and they use it.

These pups are house trained, crate trained, have had a vet visit, been wormed 5 times, had their first puppy shot and will go home with their AKC registration, as well as food, shavings and a towel that has been wiped on Mama Sunny to help them get thru the first night away.

If you are interested in my puppies, take the time to scroll down to see some of the pups who were born in December and June to see how they have grown up.
They have lovely blocky heads, even the girls! Square bodies and lovely coats. Best of all is their temperament!
These dogs have the calmest temperaments of any goldens I have come across. They are calm and don't rattle much.
I took Dublin with me on my rounds yesterday. He met people at the post office, children at our store in Goldsboro, and he was just so glad to meet and greet each one. He stood still for the children who were about 6 and 7 as they petted him and gave him hugs.
He returned to the van when I asked him to-he just walks up into the van-it is so cute. What a wonderful ambassador of the breed!

We live about 20 miles west of Dover De, and last night we sure did get some rain. We had about an hour and a half of lightning, thunder and a downpour. Then just a soaking rain for another three hours. This is how my four kids weathered the storm. Slept like the dead, and did not even register the noise.
The puppies were another story. I closed their door to the outside, and they had been happy to watch the rain outside. No crying or distress. When I closed the door, they were happy to play with their towels and blankets, and when I checked them an hour later, they were a dry and going out for the night. I opened their door to the outside before I went to bed so they could go out.
I woke up super early this morning because I knew there was going to be a mess. One pup on each side had p**ped inside, which they never do-and the outside pans of shavings were full of water and p**p. Needless to say, they ignored their pans, and p**ped beside them. This called for a full on wash down with bleach and hot water!
We now have dry clean pups and sunshine this morning.
I hope to have some good pictures of individual pups for you today. I am including pictures of the puppy food I am feeding as well as my secret additive to get dog things clean in the washer.

I use about a half a cup of Arm & Hammer Baking soda to every wash, and I use a laundry soap that is non scented. The dogs noses are very sensitive, and they like to put their on scents on things, rather than what smells good to us.

I am using Purina One for large breed puppies. It has a Dalmation on the front. It comes in 16.5 lb. bags and 31 lb. bags. I order them from Walmart.com and they usually show up the next day.
These pups are still eating three times a day.
That is alot of puppy chow!

The vet visit went great. Today the pups start their last worming. Its for three days. They are all ready to go home on Saturday!

Today was our vet visit with the pups. It went perfectly and there were no surprises. The pups all weighed out at a normal weight-The first male we weighed was almost 17lbs. Wow there are some crazy good bones!
They all checked out perfectly and the vet remarked about how calm they were.
All the way over and all the way back, with four in each crate, and there were no accidents. No one peed or p**ped until they got home! One of the threw up when we were almost home.
Over all it went great.
Not a single heart murmur for any puppy!

Here are Jane's dogs that were here last week. This is their vacation home. Grace looks so much like her mama that I called her Rosie all week. Ash the beagle will snuggle with anyone-this was Sasha, getting some sun.
