We had 10 little visitors this afternoon 🐶
These cuties got their first booster shots today and they all did so well! They are American Bulldogs and some of them are still waiting to find their furever homes. They will be ready to be rehomed in 2 weeks! 🐾

A little bundle of cuteness came in today and her name is Muffin 😻
She had a feline leukemia and FIV combo test done today and she passed with flying colors! She left with a clean bill of health and plenty of snuggles to go ❤️

Maggie came in a few days ago for vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. According to her records she only has had one distemper parvo (DA2P2L) vaccine. With Maggie still very young in age and experiencing these symptoms, we tested her for parvovirus as a precaution. Thank goodness she tested negative. We then were able to rule out parvovirus and were able to diagnose her with a GI upset. We gave her fluids and an anti-nausea injection followed with some medication to take home to help her feel better.

As happy as we were to rule out parvovirus in this case, it’s still a very serious situation that needs to be handled with care and caution. Parvovirus is a contagious fatal virus that can affect puppies and adult dogs. Getting your pet routine vaccines can lessen the chances of your pet contracting the virus. It’s important to know that your puppy needs to receive four booster shots of the DA2P2L (distemper parvo) vaccine to help them build up their immune system to fight off this virus. Here are some symptoms to look out for:
Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, blood in the stool, loss of appetite or high fever. If your pet is showing any of these signs, contact your veterinary office as soon as possible.

Marley was seen today for itching/scratching. We didn’t see any fleas on her during her exam. Her doctor said it was probably due to environmental or food allergies, so we sent her home with medication and lots of low-fat treats! 🐶❤️
