For this week's featured animal we wanted to introduce our teddy bear hamsters! We just put out a new litter at the start of this week, and they are ready for new homes! Here we have some photos of our male teddy bears. A fun fact about these cuties is that they were discovered less than 100 years ago and are also known as Syrian hamsters! Time to meet more employees! Maxi has been working here for about 6 months. Her favorite animals that we sell are cory catfish and guinea pigs. At home, she takes care of her 3 cats and fish, and is hoping to adopt a guinea pig soon! Maxi is currently a freshman at UCSB and hopes to pursue a biology major. 🐱

For this week's animal feature Friday, we wanted to bring some attention to our beautiful Azureus poison dart frogs! Despite having "poison" in the name, these little friends are not poisonous in captivity! In the wild, the small insects they eat, like ants, eat plants that make them toxic, which then passes the toxic material to the frogs! Interested in these beautiful animals? A while ago, we made a series of posts introducing our employees. Since then, we have welcomed a handful of new faces! First up, we have Noah! He has worked here at Pet House for a year and we have admired his hard work since the start. You probably know him if you have taken home a bird from Pet House recently! He has also been working in the fish department and is in the process of starting his own new tank! If you have any questions about birds or bettas, Noah has you covered! 🐦🐟
