Santa Barbara Vizsla Rescue

Santa Barbara Vizsla Rescue A South Central Coastal CA 501.c.3 group of experienced Vfolk, committed to the Rescue and thoughtfu As the need has grown, so have our Rescue efforts.

Started as a small social group of Vizsla Families in 2008, SBVLG/R has grown exponentially. Now a large group, we socialize, offer educational forums and events, have group hikes, enjoy "Vizsla Fests", and provide friendship and guidance for new Vowners or those who may be experiencing difficulties with the Vizsla-Family bond--and we have much VFUN! Recognizing the need for an active Rescue Group

in our region in 2010, SBVLG began doing occasional rescues, often in conjunction with affiliate groups. Volunteer members, led by our experienced Rescue Coordinators, assess dogs in shelters or in the home setting, provide transport to pre-qualified Foster homes, arrange for private Veterinary assessments and treatment as needed, and confer with professional trainers if behavioral problems are present. Prior to adopting, all dogs have a health/temperament check, receive updated vaccines, dental and nail care, are neutered or spayed, and are microchipped. Other necessary Veterinary care is provided if at all possible. Our Foster Parents are all experienced Vizsla Moms and Dads and provide care in their homes as if the dog were their own family member (sleep outdoors? It's a VIZSLA--perish the thought!). FOR RESCUE NEEDS or to inquire about adopting a Rescue Vizsla from us, please dual-email us at:

VERA THE BEAUTIFUL YOUNG VIZSLA MIX NEEDS PERMANENT HOME IMMEDIATELY!

You may remember, Vera was saved from the shelter and possible death when her owner’s fortunes suddenly turned. She has been lovingly cared for the past three months at the amazing RANCH AND SEA DOG RESORT THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF ASHLEY, but Ashley says Vera now deserves to settle in a home of her own. Vera is 2.5 yrs old, very playful and active, good in her crate, knows basic commands, and walks on a leash well with a front hook harness. She has been spayed and is up to date on her shots. At the ranch they say she does best with larger male dogs but can get selective with some female dogs and small dogs. No cats please. She is very good with all people.

Christine and Ashley say she is a beautiful and wonderful girl…WILL YOU SHOW VERA THERE IS LOVE AND KINDNESS AHEAD FOR HER?

Please call or email Christine, SBVLR Coordinator at [email protected], 805-680-6524 or email [email protected].

Vizsla
Age: Young Adult
S*x: Female
Name: Penny Date of Birth: August 4, 2020 Breed: Vizsla Gender: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinations: Up-to-date About Penny: Penny is a sweet, kind, and loving dog who is ready to find her forever home. Born with glaucoma in one eye and a hernia, Penny has overcome these challenges and both issues were successfully resolved through surgery when she was a puppy. She is now a healthy and happy girl! Penny is a gentle soul who loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. She is great with other pets, including cats, and she absolutely adores people and children. Penny is both crate and house trained, making her a wonderful addition to any family. Though she can be a bit shy around strangers at first, a few gentle pets are all it takes for her to open up and show her loving nature. Once she feels comfortable, Penny will be your loyal and affectionate companion. Note: Please ensure you have the time, resources, and commitment to care for a pet before considering adoption. Penny is looking for a forever home where she can continue to thrive and be loved.

‼️ 6/30 New photo update of Vera at her temporary home on the ranch. She is happy, enjoying her new friends but still is very much in need of a new forever home! Can you be the one to open your heart and give sweet Vera the happy ending she so deserves!? Please see below for additional information regarding contact information for her adoption.

‼️‼️Update 6/28: VERA IS SAFE THANKS TO ASHLEY AT SEA AND RANCH DOG RESORT BUT WE STILL NEED A PERMANENT HOME OR FOSTER: Thanks to the incredible generosity of Ashley, Vera’s owner was able to deliver her there instead of the shelter and Vera can await a new family at this lovely ranch where dogs experience nothing but fun and joy. PLEASE CAN YOU OPEN YOUR HEART TO VERA? She is so cute and grateful for a second chance. Call or email Christine, SBVLR Coordinator at [email protected] or call 805-680-6524.

🐾‼️ EXTREME EMERGENCY COURTESY POST: CUTE 2.5YR VIZSLA MIX NEEDS PERMANENT OR TEMPORARY HOME ASAP OR WILL GO TO SHELTER. Located in Los Angeles, Vera is a beautiful, friendly, energetic young Vizsla mix who according to her owner loves to play ball or frizzbee (loves trips to the park), loves all people, dogs, kids (gentle with smaller dogs and active with larger ones), knows basic commands (behaves well for treat rewards), walks well with a front hook harness (pulls just using a collar). Vera does beg a bit and will guard her toys (barks, snaps, lunges at another dog when they try to take her toy) but no bites and stops when toys are put away returning to playful mood. No bite history of dogs or humans. No cats please as she will chase. Here owner adores her but has to move very suddenly IN 48 HOURS (his girlfriend must return overseas) and cannot find pet friendly housing much as he has tried. He wants the very best for Vera but feels his precarious situation now puts her in danger so he is looking for a wonderful home who will love her as much as he does. He is willing to accept a trial situation while he sees if he can find a solution for him to take her back, but for Vera’s wellbeing, he prefers to have a new person/family who will keep her safe, stable, and loved. PLEASE LET’S HELP VERA STAY OUT OF THE SHELTER SYSTEM WHICH WILL TRAUMATIZE HER AND PLACE HER AT RISK.
Please call Christine at 805-680-6524 for adoption info. SBVLR can help with transport if needed.
