It is a proud day for True Grit Golden Retrievers because AKC enrolled me in the Breeder of Merit program. This is a considerable honor awarded to breeders who strive to improve the breed. I'm displaying the badge on my website. I applied for this with Pixie's litter--especially her litter by Bally. Thank you so much Anney Ducette for all your help placing my puppies in homes that would use them for what they were bred to do! Thank you Kelly Kosinski for allowing me to be loved by Pixie.

More time in my happy place. I'm super pleased with the progress. Both Rose and Baby Girl are trained indivually every day. Still interviewing potential homes for Baby Girl.

All puppies get 3 or 4 individual training sessions every day. The improvement is obvious. This pup is interested in learning! Excellent temperament!

Lately I've been dealing with grief. My mom passed away on May 12th and one of my brothers is contesting her will. I don't know how many have been through somehing like this but it's not for sissys. This is Brown Boy. Brown Boy favors Scotch and is the largest puppy in the litter. Brown is confident, inquisitive, responsive, energetic, sweet, and has already started swimming. One of my favorite things about Brown Boy is how much he loves to be with people. When I'm lounging with the pups, he is always there with me.

This is Yellow Boy. Yellow Boy favors Jada. He is always quick to play and first to get there; however, Yellow Boy is rarely alone and quick to follow others. He is already chasing movement and loves to play in the water. If he turns out anything like his momma, he will have 20' water entries. If he turns out like his daddy, he will enjoy romping in the icy waters of Colorodo. Yellow boy will need an active home and a job to suit his working drive. Should be about 65 lbs.

Last post for the day. I’m still pinching myself because I actually have a litter from Jada. I made a huge mistake and wasted a year of my journey with her. Thinking of spaying her and finishing our journey in obedience.

It did not take long for pups to begin demonstrating the process. Dogs are clean animals and instinctively will not soil where they sleep. I'm using this fact and manipulation of their environment to allow their instincts to emerge. These 17-day-old puppies are climbing out of their whelping nest to piddle and p**p in provided artificial grass. Dogs are amazing.

I naturally potty train every litter. It started as a way of making less mess. Now I see it as a must that makes my, the puppy's, and future family's lives easier. Puppies instinctively will not soil their nesting area so the first step is to separate the nest from the soiling area. With this litter, I'm trying artificial grass over a drain grate. So far, I like the grass better. No dust from dog litter is great cause all this is in the middle of my living room. 😳

The other day, when I saw this, I went to bed. Jada is amazing! Amazing genes there. Folks— Jada is a first time mother and pups are only 3 days old in this video. Enjoy. I know I am enjoying this.

You know you are a true opportunist when you use your siblings as a cot. Seriously, the pup's beautiful black pigment is beginning to come in. Going to be dark gold with black pigment. Stunning.
