AND we are SOOO excited to welcome back Emma Ford for another World Class Grooming clinic September 28th-29th. This was one of THE BEST clinics we did last spring and we can’t wait to have her back. Emma is back from grooming for multiple riders at the Defender KY3DE and her winter educational series down south this winter there/spring. Summer projects are underway!

Another paddock treated to mud management for round bale feeding as well as a new gate up high and dry for year round easy access. Gone are the days of churned up ground around hay feeders, this is our fifth application of this technique and we (and the horses) are loving the results!

Another paddock knocked out today with mud management around the round bales.

Three of our largest paddocks with shelters now ready for winter and spring! These are big investments into the property for our boarders and their horses.

We have been so happy with our first implementation of mud management at our round bales we called in another order for 4,000 sq ft of mud management panels and another 100 TONS of crushed limestone to complete another two paddocks!

Second paddock completed today and the third on the calendar for Tuesday!

We are excited to welcome trainer and friend Tae Erickson next weekend to the farm! Tae is a USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist based out of Sullivan, Illinois. Tae will be here to help you polish those dressage skills at any level, beginner to advanced, on Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th . This is not the typical clinic format just get in contact with us to schedule your lesson with Tae. Lessons are $85 and Tae’s laid back teaching style and sense of humor are sure to be a good time!

We are excited to host Tom Davis on November 18-19th at Fox Lake Equestrian Center! Tom was by far one of the best instructors I’ve ever had in all of my years of riding. I’m so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to my students. You won’t be disappointed if you join us!!

Cost will be $200 for the weekend, some availability for private lessons otherwise will be semi-privates.

Overnight stalls available for those that trailer in.

USEA ECP certified instructor Tom Davis offers training for both the horse and rider from the introductory level of the sport to preparing for your first CCI**. Known for his focus on body mechanics, his students regularly finish in the year end standings here in Area 1 as well as on the national leaderboard. A number of his long-time students have gone on to successful carriers in the equine industry. After closing his training facility in 2022 after 30 years, he now teaches regular lessons at Brookside Equestrian Center in RI as well as clinics throughout Area 1.

More upgrades this fall!

This is an experimental project we have implemented in our school horse paddock to tackle the issue of ground conditions around round bales.

We took a belt and suspenders approach from what we learned reinforcing the ground at our gates and scaled it WAY up utilizing heavy duty landscape fabric, expanding geo-cell grids, and over 50 TONS of crushed limestone.

To top it off we have a rubber edged manure scraper coming to keep the area clean even with prolonged use during the winter/spring season.

We are looking forward to rolling this method out to the remainder of the paddocks over time!
