Meet Ash, he is looking for a loving forever home!

One of our staff members who rescued him during Hurricane Debby, is unable to keep him as her dogs are not cat-friendly. Currently Ash seems to be afraid of dogs (can possibly change with very slow introductions). To ensure his safety, we believe it’s best to find him a new home.

He is about 14 weeks old and is the sweetest cuddle bug ever! He loves to play with his toys and thrives on affection and attention!

He has begun his first round of vaccines and deworming and is currently a loving, playful, healthy boy!

If you are a cat person and are interested in adding him to your family, please feel free to visit us for a meet and greet or give us a call at (843) 574-9070!

Does your Brachycephalic dog have stenotic nares? Common brachycephalic breeds include Bulldogs (French and English), Boxer Dogs, Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Chinese Shar-Pei, Pugs, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, and Bull Mastiffs. Dogs with stenotic nares have abnormally narrowed or small nostrils; the narrowing restricts the amount of air that can flow into the nostrils. Call us to schedule a surgical consultation with Dr. Rendon. Corrective surgery can improve breathing, reduce snoring, and lead to fewer symptoms of brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome.

We hope this message finds you well and safe. It is hard to believe that the summer season is ending and that school will soon be back in session.

Due to the anticipated inclement weather and flooding from Tropical Storm Debby and the likelihood of pharmacy and office closures, we would like to remind you to please contact our office today at 843-569-3647 if you require refills before Thursday August 8th.

We are open today; however, the safety of our team and our patients is our top priority, and we continue to monitor the forecast. Based on current weather reports, our office MAY have closures and delays throughout the remainder of the week due to the potential for severe flooding and storm surges. These closures will be posted on our page for quick reference.

We are in the Lowcountry, so while flooding may not occur in each of our immediate vicinities, we must all be safe and stay home when the force of Mother Nature chooses to impact our area negatively. So, please understand that if we determine that it is in our team's and patient's best interest to close the office, we do so because we believe it is the best course of action to ensure everyone's well-being.

Therefore, if you require refills this week, please get in touch with us today so that our team can process your requests and ensure that you can pick up any necessary prescriptions.

We apologize for any inconvenience potential closures may cause, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate these challenging weather conditions. If we are closed in the coming days, for all non-emergencies, please leave a message on the office phone line at 843-569-3647 or contact our office via our email ; [email protected].

Thank you for allowing us to be your health and wellness partner. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this week's inclement weather and ask that you please put your safety and wellness first as we weather this storm.

Sincerely,

The Animal Medical Clinic of Goose Creek

🔥 TOO HOT TO TROT 🔥

At 125° skin destruction can occur in just 60 seconds. Always check prior to your pet walking on asphalt/concrete.

The 7 Second Rule: Rest the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If your hand can't stand the heat, neither can your dog's paws!

*ANIMAL CENTER ISSUES MORATORIUM DUE TO OVERCROWDING*

Berkeley Animal Center is implementing an emergency moratorium on animal intakes to help with overcrowding. Until further notice, the shelter will only accept animals that are in danger or present a danger to others.

The Animal Center has had an influx of animals in recent weeks and is critically over capacity. In response, the shelter has extended its hours to 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm Tuesday - Saturday. The shelter is also offering a reduced fee of $20 for all dogs and cats six months and older; kitten adoptions are also half-off.

The shelter is urging the community to consider fostering or adopting. Anyone missing an animal is also urged to visit the shelter to determine if the facility is housing one’s pet.

“We have nearly 200 animals on our campus receiving care. We are overwhelmed and limited in space. We are grateful that anytime our shelter reaches out for assistance, our community steps up to do all they can. Please consider helping alleviate this critical situation.” – Heather McDowell, Berkeley Animal Center Director

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering can stop by the shelter, located at 131 Central Berkeley Drive in Moncks Corner. Fosters will be provided all necessary food and supplies for animal care. For more information, call 843-719-5050.
